Blue Magic Hostel

Our hostel is located in a relatively quiet residential area, but still only 5 blocks from the ferry pier and beach. We are also just one block off the "main drag" of Cozumel, where you can find all the best taquerias, grocery stores, laundry, etc. With our central location and your time free during the day, it's the perfect fit for those who like to explore and keep busy during the day.

Volunteers were be treated like a "special guest", we work together as a team here, and all help each other out. Staff are a great source of concierge-type information regarding to the island, as we have all lived here for years. Volunteers will have a bed in the mixed dorm in the hostel, with the ability to enjoy our A/C at night, hot pressurized water in the showers, among many more things!

My time at Blue Magic Hostel was probably one of the most memorable experiences of my life so far! Lorena, as well as the rest of the staff, were all so friendly and welcoming, and I felt like a member of the team from day one. If you’re looking for an experience where you can meet new people and make new friends from around the world, this is it! I’m so grateful for the people I met, both guests and employees. What you see is what you get with this exchange, the work is very easy and expectations are very clear and reasonable. This exchange is a 10/10 in my opinion!

Excelente experiencia en el Hostel Blue Magic! El team es super amable y de verdad te hacen sentir como en casa♥️ recomiendo full esta experiencia si quieres relajarte, conocer nuevas personas, practicar inglés y tus habilidades sociales.

No pude haber elegido una mejor opción para mi primer voluntariado, no me quiero ir! Lorena y todo el equipo de Blue Magic son muy amables, es increíble la cantidad de viajeros que conocí, el trabajo es sencillo y lo que recibes a cambio es más que solo hospedaje, me llevo toda una experiencia y amistades y conexiones de todo el mundo, estoy muy contenta de haber elegido este voluntariado, Blue Magic se convirtió en mi hogar y lo recomendaría sin pensarlo

I definitely recommend coming here. The hostel is really nice, I had time to relax and to make good connections with the people staying. Lots of guests stay for longer periods, which helps to get really comfortable. Work is easy, I was in charge of the bar in the evenings, and as I really love to be around travellers, it was always full (of friensds now) hahahah, and also of the reception in the mornings. I volunteered there for 3 weeks but in total, I've been staying more than a month, very sad to leave!
Everybody dives here, so maybe you'll get into that just like me :)

This is the second time i volunteer in this place, definitely it feels like home, Lorena is always so kind to her volunteers, and the tasks are not hard it all. They were so different from what i did first time volunteer, so that's good because they are always innovating themselves. Hostel has everything you need for living comfortable, besides most of the travelers who host here, they are really nice people, and you always meet a couple of lifetime friends.
