Eko Patagonia

UPDATE: MUST HAVE A VEHICLE FOR THIS EXCHANGE. feedback from other travelers: The distances between one attraction and another are very far. The lake is very remote and is at the bottom of a big hill about a mile long to the top. Also, from the airport BBA to Coyhaique city is approximately 1 hour. From Coyhaique to Eko is 15minutes of pavement and 25 minutes on a rough gravel road. From Eko to some of the grand attractions in the area can be 2 hours or more. When you are in the lake it’s beautiful, peaceful and isolated. There are **no food or transportation services close by** and those which are 12km away, don’t work normal hours or are not reliable, and close frequently for no reason.
REQUIRED: We believe it’s more enjoyable experience if you have your own transportation. We can help you coordinate if needed. Otherwise, there will likely be periods of free time where you are not able to leave the lake and enjoy the rest of Patagonia.

One of the highlights is the Cerro Castillo National Reserve, where you can hike to the iconic Cerro Castillo peak, explore the surrounding valleys, and camp amidst the pristine wilderness.

Who are we? Diego and his extended family have been in the region for more than 70 years and have a lot of knowledge about the region. He is excited about sharing Patagonia and preserving it for future generations. He is available to show and explain the flora and fauna of the region, share travel tips and destinations and share meals with his family and friends.
