Mulberry House

It is a lovely way to get close to the real, rural Japan. Great for hiking, local life, and relaxing in nature.
A bus connects the city of Kanazawa, and then to Tokyo etc. by Shinkansen train.

You will be treated as someone who lives in the house! Lots of little jobs here and there, some farming, some inside, there is something for everyone. The townspeople are very nice, and there is a relaxing onsen in the town. Climbing the spiritual Mount Hakusan is also a nice activity, cycling, or visiting the dinosaur museum. Personally, I like the Snowman cafe .. even in summer!
