Fue mi primer voluntariado y la experiencia fue increíble. Miguel es súper atento, simpático y respetuoso con el tiempo y el trabajo. Las tareas son mayormente de limpieza y mantener el orden del Hostel. Son tareas fácil de aprender y además el anfitrión las enseña y participa cuando tiene el tiempo para que terminemos más rápido y salir a disfrutar del lugar que es
hermoso frente a la playa .
Recomiendo mucho esta experiencia, sirve para conectar con la naturaleza y la cultura local 100%.

I super recommend Vagueira guest house, such a chill atmosphere, the house is amazing with a lot of options about what to do. It is a pleasure to know someone as Miguel, since I did feel well welcomed at this environment. Obrigado pa, tmj!!

Overall, I did not enjoy my stay. I left after 3 nights. The pick up was supposed to be in Aveiro but he changed the plans 1 hour before for Costa Nova (10 minutes by car), so it took me 5 hours instead of 1 to arrive at the meeting point. I didn't feel welcome, he hardly spoke to me and I had no information to know if anyone was going to sleep at the guest house or not. In addition, I do not recommend going there out of season because there is literally no one in the guest house and in the village. I suppose that in summer there is more entertainment and travelers.

I LOVED my time here with the other volunteers, if you want to learn to surf this is a great place to be. The waves are good for beginners and there’s a surf school next door. The work is easy and reasonable, you can get by in the town without Portuguese but the social scene is all Portuguese.
