Our time at Casa Corteza well exceeded our expectations. Elsa and Paciano are incredible hosts, they both share an uplifting and homely energy. They made us feel like family and we hope to remain long term friends. We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know not only them and their amazing place, but also the local community and, thanks to these guys, lots of history about Mexico. The tasks we got to take part in were interesting and there is always a great sense of team effort. Elsa topped off our days with incredible food aswell! We can't thank these guys enough. Much love to them ❤️

Loved loved loved our stay here! This is a genuine and authentic experience through and through. Elsa and Paciano are the most wonderful humans, the dogs are amazing. The landscape and adventures around this place are absolutely phenomenal and the small town disconnection was the perfect fit for us. Small walk to beautiful river swimming spot for after work and a beach only a few blocks away that is stunning and usually completely empty. They sure made our first world packers experience one to remember! Thank you guys so so much for everything.

I can not recommend Paciano and Elsa enough!!! We volunteered for one month and had the best time. So many adventures, family meals, great company, and they’re place is beautiful. Many things to do in Costa de Oro- and if you like immersing yourself in a very small community filled with nature, this is the place to be. Thank you again Elsa and Paciano- we miss you already!!

para ser mi primer volunariado fue la mejor decisión que pude tomar, a pesar de la época de lluvias que me tocó tanto pasiano como Elsa son exelentes personas, pacientes y comprometidas, siempre respetan las horas de trabajo pero son muy comprensivos a la hora de el trabajo
la gente de la zona es sumamente agradable y amable con todo aquel que venga sin mencionar que está ubicado en una zona perfecta que conecta entre un río tranquilo y el mar lo que lo hace perfecto.
recomiendo completamente que vivan está experiencia ❤️

Bellísimo lugar, conexión con la naturaleza y cultura local 100%, aprendí mucho pues Elsa y Paciano son personas muy cultas. Diversas tareas se llevan a cabo en el lugar y siempre hay tiempo para darse un baño en el río o en la playa, buenísima experiencia.
Dato a considerar es la ausencia de señal para ceulares y mi sugerencia es tener efectivo en moneda local.

Fue mi primer voluntariado y creo que escogí el mejor lugar para hacerlo!! Elsa y Paciano son unas excelentes personas, súper pacientes, amables e inteligentes! Termino agradecida totalmente x la experiencia que me permitieron vivir y enamorada de Los Tuxtlas ❤❤ mucho amor a Casa Corteza y todos sus integrantes 👩🏻👨🏻🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶

La experiencia en Casa Corteza fue muy positiva. Es un entorno natural estupendo para compaginar las horas de trabajo con el ocio. Hay muchos lugares para visitar, la playa, roca partida, el río, cascadas... Y todo muy cerca de las cabañas.
El trabajo es muy diverso y aprendimos un poco de todo. La comida está deliciosa!
Es una experiencia muy recomendable para aprender sobre varias disciplinas y conectar con la naturaleza y la gente local.

Me hubiera encantado estás más tiempo pero no solo no hay internet (este aspecto yo ya lo sabia) si no que no hay señal en un alrededor de 30 km aprox y no estaba preparada para eso, sin embargo pacíano siempre fue muy atento y amable conmigo :)

Casa Corteza is a family, Passiano and Elsa are very relax and we felt like home since we arrived. It was a great experience and for sure I recommend. I have no words to say how incredible they are!! Thank you very much for all learning we share!!!

It was an awesome experience. Elsa and Paciano are a really nice couple. My wife and I stayed there for 15 days, and we lived there as a family. We worked together with the host, helping them with the cleaning, doing some amazing woodworking like building tables, beds and fixing benches. The host is always worried about us, checking if we are hydrated, too tired and everything. There's a lot to do there. We had a great time, it was so much fun. We laughed together every day when we were having breakfast, lunch or dinner. The experience was unforgettable and everybody should try it once.
