My experience at the guest house was wonderful; throughout my entire stay, I truly felt right at home. Chie and Roy are extremely kind and warm. There is a full day of induction where they explain all your responsibilities in detail. The schedule is very flexible, giving me plenty of time to explore Kyoto at a relaxed pace. Additionally, the hostel is very cozy and clean. The tasks are simple, but it is important to carry them out with care and attention to detail. I highly recommend this place!

Volunteering at the guest house was such a great experience, I enjoyed every minute of my stay. Chie and Roy are wonderful hosts, super supportive and friendly!! The workload was very fair as well as the working hours so there's plenty of free time to explore Kyoto. Facilities at the guest house are super cute, it literally felt like a second home. Biiig recommendation :)

I loved my stay at the guest house and had an amazing first volunteering experience! Regarding the work, everything was really well explained and I never had to work overtime and often finished early. You usually get several days off a week which gives you a lot of time to explore Kyoto. I also had a great experience with the guests and the other volunteers and learned a lot about housekeeping. Chie and Roy are both kind, attentive and really welcoming. Even after staying for almost 2 months I wish I could have stayed longer. Thank you for everything!

I had a really nice experience during my stay. Chie was very kind, and I had the opportunity to experience Japanese culture in a more local and personal way. I'm very grateful to have met new people and learned so much. One small thing to mention is that the bicycles included were not in good condition, so I couldn't use them during my stay, even though I was told they would be fixed. However, there is the option to rent one if needed. Overall, I appreciate the experience and would definitely do it again. Thank you very much for everything.

It was my first abroad volunteering experience and it couldn't have been better! Chie is so nice and the place to stay is so cozy and beautiful. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who is interested in local culture, as Chie offers different activities to participate from, like calligraphy and tea ceremony. I got to know so many people, other staff members and guests, everyone was very friendly and polite. I had the best time❤️

The guest house Kyoto was my first Worldpackers experience, and I'm really glad I chose it. The tasks were as described in the listing, and although there was a lot to learn at first, everything was explained clearly. Chie and Roy were always supportive and happy to help whenever I had questions. They are incredibly welcoming hosts who create a friendly and positive atmosphere for volunteers. I would definitely recommend this experience to others :)

Chie and her family are such sweet people! Being in kyoto and knowing the place was wonderful. Right now Chie is pregnant and has a lot going on cause is also her due time, which makes communication a bit complicated sometimes, but she always tried to be there and show up :3 Because of that I highly suggest that if you are not such a commitment person don't even bother, the family is just so sweet and has a new stage going on for someone to just cause small problems! This a place where you can lear as much as you want but also has to be very patient and thorough. Thank you for everything!!

I had a good time at the guest house, the location is great and was able to explore Kyoto. The work was explained and the owner communicated well and was very patient, that being said it was a lot of details and responsibilities to keep track of as the volunteers are in charge of housekeeping, reception, breakfast, and guest relations. I felt as the work overlapped at times with my time off so it made it difficult to disconnect from the work as you are also living in such close quarters with the guests. If you don't mind being on your own and just want to explore then I recommend this experience.

I had a lovely time at the guest house. The house is lovely, perfectly combining traditional features with a sense of modernity. I was there during the high season so there was always guests, which made the environment very dynamic. The work is fun, but can be tiring especially if there's many guests or if you're doing a double shift. Kyoto is a lovely city, which you will have plenty of time to enjoy! Chie is a very sweet host, she will make sure you're ok and enjoying the city.

I had a beautiful experience at Hachie! ✨Chie is very kind and hardworking, and you can really feel that reflected in the place too. It was a wonderful place to work, already beautiful on its own, with a very traditional vibe and so much peace. The work was very fair, some days were very quiet and others were busier, but I honestly enjoyed both the morning shift, preparing breakfast and cleaning, and the afternoon shift with check-ins and shopping. I genuinely liked what I was doing! Also lots of time to explore Kyoto! I hope I can return someday to relive my days there!🤍
