Passei um tempo realmente agradável na casa de hóspedes! Pude trabalhar em um pequeno projeto criativo, o que foi muito divertido e eu realmente apreciei ter a liberdade de organizar meu tempo. Também gostei de fazer trilhas e ter um tempo tranquilo para mim. Ryu e Chiharu são ambos muito gentis e receptivos, e você pode sempre procurá-los se tiver alguma dúvida. Realmente gostei da minha estadia e recomendo este voluntariado! :)

I truly loved my two months here 🥰 surrounded by nature and the peaceful countryside. After months of travelling around Japan, it felt like a real reconnection and a second home. Ryuchi and Chiharu are incredibly kind and caring, always looking after our well-being. I loved working here, doing housekeeping and making beds it's was very relaxing. We shared amazing moments together with the other volunteers, from homemade gyoza nights to BBQs and fish by the fire. I'll miss this place and everyone so much! I'll definitely come back to the guest house 🫶 See you soon Ryuchi, Chiharu and Hina-Chan 🐐🏡🫶

Minha experiência na guest house foi incrível. Meu primeiro trabalho voluntário foi recebido com tanto entusiasmo e emoção. Ryu e Chi foram muito atenciosos e gentis. O estabelecimento é agradável e confortável. Conheci pessoas maravilhosas aqui e fui a muitos festivais. Um dos meus momentos favoritos foi a noite de gyoza. Uma atividade tão divertida e deliciosa. Obrigado(a) Ryu e Chi por esta experiência inesquecível.

Foi bom passar algumas semanas lá, entre o centro de Asahikawa e Biei; conseguimos aproveitar os festivais de verão pela região. Os anfitriões são legais, eu principalmente interagi com a Chiharu, que é bem acolhedora e gentil. Eu principalmente aprendi como fazer as tarefas de limpeza e montar as camas com os outros voluntários, então não posso dizer se a Chi e Ryu são bons explicadores. A água tem muito ferro, não tenho certeza se é tão boa para a saúde; dois voluntários tiveram problemas de pele, talvez não por causa disso, mas provavelmente não ajudou. Há muitos insetos, até dentro das casas.

I had a lot of of fun! Chi and Ryu are awesome hosts, super friendly and welcoming, and flexible with the schedule! The work is varied, mostly cleaning and sometimes helping with chores. They did takoyaki night, took us hiking and to an onsen, and had a few BBQ nights which was amazing! The area is very rural but they have bikes and a scooter you can use to explore or get groceries, and Asahikawa is not far away by train if you want to go to the city. It's the perfect place if you want a laid-back trip in the countryside! There's no AC in the staff dorm in summer but lots of fans.

I really enjoyed my stay at the the guest house. Ryu and Chi are wonderful hosts; kind, welcoming, and easy to talk to. The work mainly involves gardening, weeding, and cleaning the guest houses, and it's usually finished by 1 or 2 pm. Volunteers have access to bicycles and a motorbike, which makes it easy to explore the beautiful surroundings, full of farms and flower fields. If you enjoy being outdoors and don't mind doing some yard work, I highly recommend this opportunity!

Totonu place is a cosy and cute place in Hokkaido countryside where the wonderful landscape are a true break from the big cities of Japan. Work was really chill, we helped at housekeeping gardening and decorate the place with paints ! Thank you so much Ryuji and Chiharu for hosting us, spending good time bringing us around <3

We had a wonderful time! The food parties (Takoyaki & Gyoza night) were so much fun, and the hike with Ryu was a highlight. Spending time with Chi made everything even better. Work started with cleaning, later shifted more to gardening, plus helping with their house renovation. We also loved using the bikes and scooter provided. Just note that the area is very rural—having a car is highly recommended to fully enjoy beautiful Hokkaido!
