DESAFIADOR!

Henrique, your assessment may have criticisms, but lies about us are defamation. Your attitudes here were inconvenient and exhausting for us and other volunteers, and we have several witnesses. I told you about the food issue before you arrived here, and I even suggested that you might not come if you didn't want to. It is all recorded via WhatsApp. The issue of the other people\'s work concerns them, and it\'s not up to you to evaluate. Reckless accusations against other volunteers, to look good, we will never accept. When Pedro talks about João, he\'s talking more about himself than about João. You do not acknowledge, you have never acknowledged any error and negligence in your work. Even your walking was slow in the activities. It took you all day to plant the same area of grass that a female volunteer did in one morning, and your comparison comment about the division of tasks is inappropriate; here we divide activities according to demand and competencies. You showed difficulties in listening and doing the tasks as requested. For example: to fill the mud hole, I asked four times to do the same task; I would arrive there and you were doing something else, different from what was asked. The grass was planted with twice the spacing requested, despite me showing you how to do it. I thought that with our conversations you had learned; I was going to keep these issues private. But you spit in the dish you ate from. Talks loudly, does not listen, only talks about himself all the time, and even when he answers the phone he has the minimum notion of leaving the shared space in the kitchen. People are not obliged to listen to your personal call on speaker. You are not the center of attention. The other volunteers did not want to stay near you, and they would leave when you arrived. Go to grab things in the kitchen, step over others, don\'t ask for permission, and even shirtless you stand in an awkward way near the other volunteer, with your armpits exposed in her face at less than 5 cm. You have no notion of respect or space. I saw this in person. You were a learning experience for me to say no, no means no, from the start, and not to tolerate more this kind of situation. That comment of yours made me put more filters in the selection of our volunteers, and we will not give more chances in similar situations. My note: you deserve only 1 star, for teaching me to better filter the next volunteers. The volunteers\' bicycle was available, but you wanted the owner\'s best bicycle, and that one isn\'t available anyway. You complain about the admission to tours, you did a guide course, but you have no idea how much it costs and the work involved to maintain an attraction. Not even we residents have free entry to all attractions, and what we have has been years of building and friendship. I explained this to you in person, but you have to expose your limited view to the public. You complain that you don\'t have money to buy food, but you bought beer and offered it to the others. It\'s very incoherent. You said you didn\'t have enough cash to spend, and I offered help. But you don\'t remember that. Leave food spilling blood and spoiling in the fridge. It was never stated that we offer discounts at other hostels, but only at ours. You questioned your work schedule several times, it could be exhausting, despite in your registration there is a 32-hour weekly schedule, and I changed it to 24 hours weekly, and you did not mention that. But it\'s there in the records. You only know how to complain, but mention that we offer green juice every morning, homemade bread with flax, whole grain cake with cocoa and coconut oil. That there was a box with rice, beans, pasta, coffee, oats for you to prepare your meals, you don\'t remember. Including the vegetables and medicinal herbs from our garden. Not the arnica-based remedy for insect bites that I prepared for you. Regarding earnings, yes, if you want learning, look for a permaculture school, with housing and meals included. Courses vary on average around R$ 4000. Here it\'s a trade of housing for services, it would not make any sense to offer you housing in a tourist place, where everything is more expensive, access to goods and services is difficult, to offer you meals, the right to harvest, and stay only in learning. About the issue you asked me about using the washing machine, I said that on cloudy days our solar energy does not even cover the laundry for the inn. And you said you didn\'t know how to wash clothes. I offered, and I offer the use of the machine to volunteers whenever there is sun and availability. But we do not always have sun in the summer. I explained that we have stayed here two years washing clothes by hand (the inn, the children, and cloth diapers). Oh, another issue, you said you don\'t know how to cook; well, a 34-year-old person who doesn\'t know how to cook the basics should not travel as a volunteer. And this will be our basic filter: know how to cook, wash your own clothes and get along with the other volunteers, know how to listen, be grateful. And I\'m very sorry to have welcomed you here. A big lesson: Our questionnaire is stricter, with clearer information possible to avoid receiving people with this profile. For those who never should have come, it was too late. Grateful for the lessons Who does not know how to give, does not know how to receive.

About me as an author

@rick.on.road

Sabem aquele viajante que chega no lugar e quer fazer tudo? Pesquisou tudo?
