Ich hatte entspannte Tage in der Pension. Es war Nebensaison, also war die Arbeit ziemlich entspannt. Grundsätzlich hilft man beim Frühstück. Alle, die dort arbeiten, waren super nett zu mir. Da es keine anderen Freiwilligen gab, hatte ich das Zimmer ganz für mich allein. Und ich hatte auch Surfkurse mit Ashan, das war definitiv der Höhepunkt! Ich freue mich, die Chance gehabt zu haben, in Ohana zu bleiben. Vielen Dank 🙏🏼

Dies war meine erste Worldpackers-Erfahrung! Mein Ziel vor der Ankunft im Gästehaus war es, Surfen zu lernen und Einheimische sowie andere Reisende kennenzulernen, und ich hatte das Glück, dass diese Ziele hier erfüllt wurden. Das gesamte Personal des Gästehauses ist unglaublich fleißig und ich habe großen Respekt vor ihnen. Das Gästehaus befindet sich an einer wunderbaren Lage in Sri Lanka, so nah am Strand und an köstlichen Restaurants. Der einzige Nachteil ist, dass es direkt an einer Hauptstraße liegt, wodurch es durch den Verkehr laut sein kann. Insgesamt, wenn du surfen lernen oder tolle Leute kennenlernen willst, ist das hier der Ort :)

Ich hatte eine großartige Zeit, ehrenamtlich bei Ohana zu arbeiten. Ich genoss meinen Aufenthalt wirklich und fühlte mich von Anfang an wohl. Die Arbeit war wie vereinbart, und wir hatten genügend Freizeit, um die Stadt und die Umgebung zu erkunden.
Die Zusammenarbeit mit den Einheimischen war viel Spaß und eine tolle Erfahrung. Die Atmosphäre war sehr warm und familiär, und die Unterkunft war gemütlich und komfortabel.
Wir konnten die Surfboards benutzen und sogar an Surfkursen teilnehmen, wenn wir wollten, was ein großes Highlight war.
Ich traf erstaunliche Leute und schloss großartige neue Freundschaften. Insgesamt kann ich dieses Freiwilligenprogramm wärmstens empfehlen!

Ich habe die Zeit meines Lebens im Gästehaus verbracht! Paula und Rudolfo sind die freundlichsten Gastgeber und geben dir wirklich das Gefühl, Teil einer großen Familie zu sein. Meine täglichen Aufgaben bestanden darin, das Frühstück für die Gäste vorzubereiten und ein wenig bei der Reinigung zu helfen. Ich konnte auch ihre Surfboards nach Belieben benutzen, und sie motivierten mich, mein Surfen enorm voranzutreiben. Das gesamte Team im Gästehaus ist unglaublich. Ich habe unzählige Stunden damit verbracht, mit Ashan, Kauchi und Chamil zu lachen — ich werde es wirklich vermissen, jeden Tag in ihrer Nähe zu sein 🥲 Danke, dass ihr diesen Ort wie zu Hause macht ❤️

If I could, I'd give the guest house 10 stars! From day one, I felt at home. Paula and Rudolfo aren't just great hosts – they make you feel like family (just with more surfboards in the backyard). My time here was a mix of work, laughter, surfing, and unforgettable people. the guest house is where you build connections that last longer than my sunburn. If you're looking for the perfect balance of work, surf, and chill with amazing people – this is it. Thank you for everything.

Our volunteer experience at the guest house was unique. the guest house-Team is working very hard Still they were caring and very supportive trough our whole stay at the Guest-House, especially Paula. The work we did was mostly helping as kitchen hands at the breakfast, and checking the clients rooms. Most of the time we started at 7:30 am and finished the work around 2:30/3pm. We appreciated participating in some surflessons. The room we stayed in was very comfortable - it was very cozy and with a private bathroom. To use the kitchen was great and the atmosphere at the guest house was very authentic. Thank you

The guest house was my first experience volunteering and the only downside of that is, that I don't think any other experience will ever come close to how amazing my time here was! The room we stayed at was beautiful, the people were so welcoming and kind and even tho I only stayed for a weeks (wish I would've stayed longer) the guest house truly feels like family. The work was definitely doable for what you get in return. I'm gonna miss it so much and can recommend this experience to everyone!

The guest house is a very special place. Immediately after arriving, I felt so welcomed into a family. It really did feel like a home away from home! I was able to learn how to surf, meet locals, practice Spanish, and more! I volunteered for 2 weeks, and I wish I could've stayed longer! The work is simple, and the accommodation is just beautiful! The owners are so kind, and they make dinner each night for the volunteers! I would highly recommended this Worldpackers because it was so great, and Sri Lanka is just incredible!! Thank you, the guest house <3

Volunteering at the guest house was absolutely amazing! Paula, Rodolfo, the whole team and the other volunteers made me feel so welcome and after volunteering there for one month it feels like a home away from home for me. The work was easy and I could learn a lot of new things. Shifts are in the morning (mainly 7:30am - max. 1:30pm) which gives you plenty of time to explore the area after work. I met so many wonderful people and could really enjoy my time there, also because the room in which I was staying was very comfortable (A/C, clean, etc). I'm very grateful for my time and can recommend it 100%!
