It's an old tipical house full of charm, in the heart of Judería's neighbourhood, central located in Córdoba, Andalusia, Spain. Very close to the most important monuments in town, and the city is really nice and with lots of attractions.
The staff is composed by two women doing the reception, in different shifts, a person dedicated to the cleaning, and the idea is to have one more person for the night shift and other dutties. Ana and Victoria are the owners of the hostel, very glad to be in the travel business and to serve people. We always treat staff as members of the hostel, friends, as family.

Al Katre was a lovely, safe, and quiet place to stay for a month. The owners, staff, and other volunteers were sweet and welcoming. The work was extremely light—by far the lightest of any volunteer I’ve done. There were a few communication problems about what our tasks were, but we were able to clear up the confusion and move past it. Córdoba is a lovely historic city, but it’s best for volunteers who are looking for a quiet, relaxing stay.

I had an unforgettable time at Hostel Al Katre and would always come back. Ana and Victoria have a big heart and I felt right at home in the hostel. The working hours and the work itself are more than fair and you definitely have enough time to explore the city. The hostel is beautiful and if you want you can socialize with guests, but you can also retreat on the roof terrace or in the hammock if you need some time to yourself. All in all, I had a wonderful time in Córdoba and can only recommend you to volunteer here.

Ana and Victoria are very welcoming and friendly. I immediately felt at home. The work is easy and you have plenty of time to explore Córdoba and other nearby cities.

Al-Katre was a lovely work away experience. The hosts were friendly and fun, and flexible with us when we unexpectedly had to leave early. We garnered a great sense of community over the month we stayed with guests, other volunteers and the hosts. The hostel itself is a beautiful example of architecture in cordoba with an amazing view of the city from the rooftop. The hosts had great recommendations on places to eat and shop and the work hours were early enough that when you finished you still had a full day to explore. My only recommendation, bring clothes you can paint in!
