We moved to France about 20 months ago, taking on a property that had been empty for four years . We have a lovely period property and although all the majority of reparation is done we still need people to help with projects and ongoing maintenance. Our current projects are building an arena for the horses. Cutting tracks through the woods and reclaiming fields from fast growing weeds and trees. You will need to have experience with a brush cutter and chainsaw and be able to work unsupervised. Couples preferred. First available dates are from September 2023
Hello we are Ritchie and Karen. We breed black Arabian horses as a business. We are a laid back couple from the UK and our volunteers can either help us as part of a project or autonomously on various othertasks. We supply accommodation, breakfast and dinner in return for 5 hours help per day. Couples preferred.

El lugar es mucho más lindo en persona, y las cenas juntos son geniales.
Nos dejaron cocinar para los 4 en varias oportunidades, tiene una gran cocina!
Las tareas se adecuan a lo que uno sea más apto, eso no es una complicación.
El hospedaje es una cabaña separada.

Karen and Ritchie were super friendly from the first moment, always willing to help us with what we needed! Your farm is a beautiful place to enjoy nature and animals. They were luxury hosts, we were very happy that our first volunteering was with them. They are excellent people who work hard all day, our tasks were very varied every day, always accompanied by them. We shared very good dinners and talks. We went for two weeks and stayed for three weeks, it was a pleasure to meet you! Thank you for making us feel at home :)

For my first WorldPackers experience, Bidallon was perfect! Richie & Karen were delightful hosts; they were accommodating, beginning with Ritchie's warm welcome at the Auch station, and Karen providing her tasty dinners nightly. All the tasks and duties aligned with expectations. Our hosts gave a reasonable amount of work to chip away at, while allowing the perfect level of autonomy to complete the tasks at our own, comfortable pace. There was ample time leftover to enjoy the town & farm life (Richie & Karen even hosted us at local events) when we weren't working. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Our experience at Bidallon was wonderful and we highly recommend it. Ritchie greeted us warmly at the station in Auch and the hospitality extended from he and Karen only grew from there. We arrived as strangers and left as friends and their personalities added more to the experience than we could have imagined. The property is beautiful, the lodging is comfortable and charming, and their animals sweet and fun. Our hosts also coordinated for us to attend local events and get a bit of cultural immersion.
The work matched our expectations and was rewarding.

We stayed at the beautiful Bidallon for about 6 weeks and we had a wonderful stay there. Karen and Ritchie made us feel really at home, and we loved our gîte. Everyday was different at Bidallon we loved the interaction with al the lovely animals and al the different jobs everyday. After every hard day of working there was a great meal cooked for us, and we had a great chat with Karen and Richie, they made sure we had everything we needed. We highly recommend this stay if you wanna enjoy beautiful south of France and some great mountain views.
