Boreland Lodge Hotel

We're a small hotel just North of Edinburgh. You can get to Edinburgh just 30mins on the train. Volunteers get their own private room with an ensuite or share with another Volunteer we're all like family. We're experienced hosts and are always welcoming volunteers with open arms!

We have 4 staff members here: John and Josie ,Greg and shelbie who are all Scottish. We only speak English (with a very Scottish accent )and try to encourage only English to be spoken whilst on duty. Volunteers are treated with patience and respect. Here you'll be able to improve your English, have lots of free study time, and gain good experience to put on your CV. During your time off you can enjoy the area, discover Edinburgh and travel around Scotland.We are happt to help and support you.

I had a good experience in Boreland Hotel, the staff is amazing and the tasks are simple.
The hotel is in a tiny village very peaceful, beautiful and calm, close to the beach and nice places to walk, But if you want to go to Edinburgh is only 20 minutes by train.
Sav, Josie, and amazing volunteers, thanks for the good experience.

Volunteering at Boreland Hotel was a truly positive experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and respectful, which made my time there enjoyable. The volunteer accommodation is comfortable, the shifts are fair, and the tasks are easy to manage. I’m especially grateful to Sav and Josie for all the help and care I received during my stay.

This experience allowed me to meet several people with different cultures and languages. They made me feel welcome even though communication was sometimes difficult due to the language.
Sav was always attentive and trying to solve what would be needed, Jossie is a very dedicated person to work and I got along well with her because she likes to do things well.
I was able to visit Edinburgh many times because it is close and transportation is easy and I also enjoyed the activities I did as a volunteer, mainly cleaning and keeping everything tidy.

The tasks are simple and can be easily done. If you have good time management skills you can finish them with plenty of time left to enjoy your day.

The room is big and comfortable with a private bathroom. Receives plenty of sunlight and fresh air.

Shifts rotate, which I personally enjoyed because I didn’t feel that I was stuck in the routine.

Sav and Josie are approachable, kind and lovely and are always there to guide you and help you in anything you may need.

Thank you for giving me the chance to live this whole new experience. I will miss you!!!

Las tareas asignadas fueron sencillas y accesibles. Este aspecto permitió que fuera una experiencia agradable y sin estrés, dejando tiempo para disfrutar y aprender del entorno y las personas.
Me gusto el ambiente de colaboración y apoyo entre los voluntarios y el personal. Todos los integrantes del equipo siempre estuvieron dispuestos a ayudar, creando un ambiente de camaradería y solidaridad.
