Our location cannot be beat! Kraken Hostel is located in between the church of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the main square (adjacent to the city hall). We are also a block away from the main area of the Malecón: the seahorse statue and the outdoor amphitheater (right next to Los Arcos). We are located in the heart of Vallarta's downtown, just a few minutes away from the main beach and a great variety of bars, art galleries, night clubs, restaurants. etc. We are an LGBTQ+ friendly hostel.

Literalmente casa kraken se siente como hogar, no pude haber escogido un mejor sitio para mi primera experiencia de voluntariado. Adela y su hija son unas personas increíbles, desde el primer momento me han acogido y ayudado como una más, y por no hablar del resto de voluntarios que sin querer en vez de amigos creamos una familia, todas las palabras se me quedan cortas para describir este lugar . Ojalá vernos muy pronto❤️

La experiencia en Casa kraken, no es que fuera mejor o peor, esque se convirtió en mi casa al poco tiempo de llegar, conocí a voluntarios que se convirtieron en mi familia, me divertí y aprendí cada segundo de mi estadía, y realmente escribo este comentario con cariño a este lugar, espero que siga siendo como es el mejor hostel de Vallarta y os pido que me cuideis a mi Adela y a mi queridísimo bar!!

Casa Kraken es el mejor lugar para hacer voluntariado en Puerto Vallarta, todo el equipo es buena onda, si tienes dudas o preguntas ellos siempre están al pendiente de ayudar. Gracias por la paciencia, el cariño y hacerme sentir parte de su casa. Mil gracias a doña Adela por las risas y las correcciones, lo valoro mucho! ❤️ Me senti muy cómoda con todos y es una pena poder irme pero los llevo en mi corazón! Fue de las mejores experiencias en hostales que he tenido, llegue de urgencia por una muy mala experiencia que había teniendo en un voluntariado en sayulita y no pudo ser mejor este hostal. Mas que un hostal, se convirtió en una familia. La dueña Adela es lo más simpática y linda persona que puede existir, también el manager Ed de las mejores personas que pude conocer. En resumen, recomiendo a 100 esta experiencia, lindo hostal, buena vibra, muy bien ubicado y hermoso. Los extraño <3

The good: the atmosphere is great because of the people there. I had a great time with my fellow volunteers and the owner Adela is very nice.
The bad:
1) the A/C is not allowed to be used most of the year; it gets extremely hot.
2) I stayed for a month and there was no functional microwave the whole time.
3) The bar did not have running water for most of my time as a bartender; there were also just about 8 cups for the whole bar
4) next to a church whose bells ring late at night and early in the morning
If these are things you don’t mind, I would recommend.
