Casa Wakanda

If you are looking for an opportunity to learn how the almonds, olives, carob and grapes are grown, we have the place for you. You also have the opportunity to learn/teach how to grow vegetables, make irrigation systems and all the other things that go into running a small farm.

We are a family of 4 who are trying to figure out how to do all the things that need to be done to run this farm. You can expect to help out with all the things that need to be done in the field as well as small maintenance work. You will have your own room, access to a fridge, microwave and a hotplate.

Mónica y su familia son increíbles! Desde el momento uno te hacen sentir incluida y cómoda en su hogar. Están siempre atentos a tu bienestar, a que conozcas diferentes lugares y tradiciones de la zona. Mi experiencia fue muy linda junto a ellos.
Su vivienda es hermosa y tiene una vista increíble.
Recomiendo que vivan esta experiencia, que tengan el placer de conocer a esta hermosa familia ☺️☺️

Mi experiencia en Casa Wakanda fue hermosa. Me descubrí haciendo tareas que no sabía que podia hacer. Si bien el trabajo en el campo es algo cansador, tenia mucho tiempo libre para descansar, pasear y recargar energías. Monica es una mujer preciosa, siempre predispuesta a recibir ideas que sirvan para mejorar el espacio de trabajo, además cocina riquísimo y muy sano. Encontré en ella una amiga. Tanto ella como Valdimar me hicieron parte de su familia desde el comienzo, invitandome a paseos y alcanzandome a lugares cuando salía por mi cuenta. Recomiendo la experiencia, disfruté mucho cada día.

I really enjoyed my time at La Casa de Wakanda, learning about the operation and management of olive trees, almond trees, and vineyards. My daily tasks included pruning branches to fit into the grinding machine, grass cutting, and applying sulphur to the vineyards. Thanks to Monica, Valdimar, and their lovely daughters for sharing their stories and experiences, cultural exchange, and for motivating me to improve my Spanish. Cheers, Yuen

I really enjoyed my stay at Casa Wakanda! Mónica and Valdimar were really nice hosts and made me feel welcomed. Their kids were very nice as well and showed me around town. I always worked in the mornings so I had some free time in the afternoons to explore the surrounding area, which is really beautiful. They told me a lot about the culture in Spain and especially Catalunya as well as about their original cultures which was really interesting and I got to practice my Spanish 😊. Would definitely recommend this experience!

Mónica and Valdimar are wonderful hosts in every way. Meals and conversation with the family was my favorite part. They speak so many languages! Be sure to ask Mónica for the story of how they met. The view from the roof is perfect in the mornings. I took off weekends which worked perfectly with the host's schedule, but they were flexible if I wanted to change. I worked on trimming weeds and vines, spreading fertilizer, repairing irrigation, chipping wood, and building a path. The surrounding cities were lovely to visit. I hired a car but you can use trains and busses. Valls is a 30 min walk
