Working in our hostel spiritually enriches you. You will make new friends, know people from all over the world and learn how to approach guests in the best way possible! Moreover in exchange for work you will obviously have your free time to enjoy Sicily, Mt. Etna, Taormina and all the beautiful places Sicily offers.
I'm Gianni, Gianni House's manager: it is a family run hostel located in the area of Giardini-Naxos/Taormina. Our aim is to create the meeting point is Sicily, that's why we are searching for people from all over the world who can help us in our project: we deeply believe that anyone of you could be helpful to us and could add something special to our hostel! Volunteers will be treated as they're part of the family, they will have accomodation and a typical Italian breakfast included. Moreover the atmosphere here is really friendly so it will be easy to make friends with the family, the staff members and all the guests. Some of the mansions include welcoming guests at their arrival giving them tips about the places they can visit, helping them in case they need suggestions, showing them the room where they'll stay and the hostel, and finally cleaning the common areas.

I loved my time at Gianni House I was so sad to leave, the hostel has everything you need and is really clean, the tasks are easy and we had shifts agreed ahead of time and on my days off I was able to visit other parts of Sicily. The town is quiet so if you want party place it’s not for you but it’s super peaceful and the beach is 5 minutes away. Would recommend this place always. Big thank you to everyone I met here!

I had so much fun at Gianni house! Gianni and Graziella are extremely friendly and made sure to make this a home away from home (they even helped celebrate my birthday with cake and drinks). The location of the hostel is awesome, extremely close to the beach. The work is easy and the volunteers made the experience great. There weren’t a lot of volunteers/guests towards the end of my stay, as it was low season. Overall I recommend :) grazie mille Gianni house!

Working in Gianni house was interesting, easy. The shifts were very quiet since I worked in September (off season). You learn all the reception work very wast since it isn’t a rocket science. Had lots of fun with other volunteers. Gianni and Graziella are amaizing people. Thank you for the opportunity.

I had a great time in Gianni House but it was mostly because of the other staff members .
Because we had many volunteers some of them had to live in an apartman (like me) and only 4 volnteers could live in the hostel. The apartman is not bad but inconvinent because you have to walk 15 minutes to eat, work, cook, etc.
When I moved to the hostel I liked the living situation better. Overall loved Gianni House, Graziella is great, felt like she is a mother of the Gianni House. Also Gianni was nice, but mostly he was not at the hostel. Also the other volunteers made a hostel like a big family

My time at Gianni House was wonderful! The work was fairly easy and although there is no permanent training manager, we all help each other. In August, peak season, there were plenty of fun volunteers and guests although they do accept travelling school groups. I was in the apartment and loved the space - close to the good supermarket too. I really enjoyed speaking Italian with Graziella and I would recommend being able to speak (or at least understand) Italian if you work here - it will make for easier communication. Grazie mille per tutto Graziella and Gianni, spero che ci vediamo presto 🤗
