Monterrey is not the typical Mexican city so you will experience a very different life style here. This city is the economic the economic power house of Mexico and as such life is very fast paced but with a very interesting culture. Apart from that the city is surrounding beautiful mountains with endless amount of hikes.
My Family in Monterrey is still a new hostel so we will be very much still figuring things out but we will always treat our volunteers as family and try to accommodate their needs.

el hostal es muy tranquilo, me tocó ayudar en recepción, la mayoria de los huespedes hablan español asi que te da chancita de practicar tu español (y inglés). los chicos de recepcion y las señoras de limpieza tuvieron mucha paciencia conmigo y fueron atentos. El hostal se encuentra en un lugar super céntrico asi que puedes aprovechar la ciudad y sus alrededores hermosos en tus días de descanso, asi que si te gusta la ciudad o la naturaleza monterrey lo tiene todo, gracias al equipo del hostal !

I had a very good time at the hostal and the staff was very nice, supportive and helpful. All of them were great and got along with them very well. They tasks very easy to fullfill and the time table allowed me to explore the city in my quality time. The hostal is well located and it was easy to meet new people. The atmosphere at the hostel was great. I would do it again. The boss Armando and my colleague Laura and Diana were great to work with and always there for me.

I had a great time at this hostel. Since arriving, everyone was super welcoming and very helpful! The tasks were simple and it was easy to meet other volunteers and travellers. This was my first experience with WP and it was a great choice. Juan, Armando and Laura were very sweet and accommodating. Will definitely come back when I am able to!

Volunteering in Monterrey was a great experience. The tasks were easy, just working at the reception desk. Some of the reception work is at night so that is something to be aware of. Armando and Juan were very welcoming and really made me feel like a local in Monterrey. This is a great opportunity to practice your Spanish as the majority of the guests are Mexican. Monterrey is a quieter city but is very beautiful and the weekends are bumpin'. The hostel is in a great location and you an easily walk to a lot of food, bars, and museums. I will certainly be back to visit My Family in Monterrey!
