My name is Hassan, i grew up in an oasis 12 km from Tagounite. I live in a traditional house (Kasbah) in a little nomad village in a gorgeous oasis. We have several bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, toilet and big garden.
We are happy to receive people to help us build this house. I will teach you house building, making bricks. Currently we are renovating the kitchen. We have 3 meals a day.
It's very calm here and remote and the village is mostly empty.
We also have WiFi (not free)
We work max 3 hours a day. 5 days a week.
We have goats, dogs, chickens and a cat.
We are full in June and July. You can stay till 10 June or come after 16 July.

I am happy to take you on desert tour with me and show you the desert I grew up in.
A few times a week I go to Tagounite, you can join me for shopping. There's a market twice a week.
I will take you to visit my family and you will meet my friends.
There is enough to do here like visiting tagounite, the market, desert, walking to the mountains, go to weddings, meet my family and friends.
Bring a mosquito spray and washing powder to wash your clothes. Work clothes and shoes which can get muddy. Warm jacket, pyjama for the months nov, dec, jan, Feb.
How to get here;
You can fly to Marrakech, Ouarzazate or
Casablanca. You can fly from Casablanca to Zagora.
You can take a buss from Marrakech to Tagounite with ctm buss company for around 19 euro. Departure at 11.00 and arrival in Tagounite at 20.30.
Or with buss company Supratours. Departure at 15.00 and arrival at 23.00 in Zagora.
You can fly from Casablanca to Zagora for only 30 or 40 euro.
From Zagora you can take a shared taxi for 30 Dirham. But not after 6 pm. It's hard to get a taxi at that hour. From Zagora to Tagounite is 1 hour.
We pick you up from the buss station in Tagounite.
We have lots of experience with volunteers. We try to make your stay pleasent. I and my staff are calm and open people. We eat 3 times a day and work 3 hours a day. We take you to see the mountain. We can teach you how to cook Morocco food.

The hosts were great. The people there were not the problem at all. The problem was I feel it is false advertising. The picture and the place that we stayed at DONT match at ALL. We stayed in an unbuilt house with no roof or AC. I just wish this was told to us beforehand otherwise I would not have gone. We ended up leaving early because it was too uncomfortable to bear. On top of that the ride there wasn’t free (which is fine) but we weren’t even told that until after.. and we didn’t have cash on us. Just little stuff like that. Again hospitality was great but the location was not great.

It took me a day or two to adapt to the primitive conditions but once the week passed I didn’t want to leave. Hassan, Ayoub and Abdul are such kind and welcoming souls and the other volunteers too. Such a great way to experience the moroccan culture especially as it was ramadan at the time. Don’t miss the desert trip as it will blow your mind❤️

The moment in Hassan’s house was amazing ! We were a lot of international volonteers, really fun. Hassan was with 3 friends, and they were really helpful and funny. A great experience to understand the berber life !

the proper desert experience. Husan always has his family and neighbours round allowing to meet people who live in the desert.
The work is an enjoyable unique way of seeing how life is like here.
What I would recommend though is to bring a fly squat
