Vitae Hostel

We love having fun together, also our hostel has a bit of a community around it already, so coming here feels like seeing all of your old friends again!
Europe is very small, and you get to meet a lot of the people you've met in spain, check, ostria, germany and so on!

The staff here is like a family (a pretty drunk family) We like to party, but also chill, have movie nights, go sightseeing and all of that! If you like being social, like meeting a bunch of new friends, and have a lot of fun days and nights, this is the place for you!

The best advice I could give you is to NEVER WORK IN THIS HOSTEL, or even stay as a guest. This is going to be hard to sum up everything that went wrong in only 600 characters.
I joined the Vitae Hostel on the 26th of December and was about to stay for a month. I left after 5 days for the following reasons: the managing team made me work 14 HOURS A DAY, with barely one meal scheduled in the day, when the deal was 25h/week. I got very sick after 2 days and they kept wanting me to work that much. Also, when I arrive, the hostel, and especially the volunteers room was in a deep state of dirtyness

Thank you for your feedback. We believe there may be a misunderstanding as your review dishearteningly exaggerates the situation. We strive to ensure all staff work within the agreed terms and maintain a positive environment. Volunteers typically work 3-5 shifts, 2-6 hours each. We would never force an ill traveler to work, and our management is always available to step in. We provide free dinners regularly and allow staff to maintain their privacy in their rooms by scheduling cleaning times.

I loved volunteering at Vitae so much! The people I met, both guests and volunteers, were amazing, and I’m so happy to now call them friends. The hostel is in a perfect location, which made it easy to explore the city during my free time. The shifts were really well-organized, with a good mix of cleaning, reception, and hosting activities, and there was always plenty of time to relax or hang out with others. It really felt like being part of a big, fun family. Budapest is such an awesome place, and Vitae made it even better!

I love Vitae so much I don't know where to begin. I just met the most amazing people here, both guests and volunteers, people that I can now truly call my friends. I love them and miss them very much. The shifts were very diverse which i really liked. Cleaning, reception, hosting activities. I liked how, during our free time, the volunteers were just hanging out together or chilling with guests. It truly felt like being part of a family. The pain I felt everytime someone I'd grown close to left was very real. Also Budapest itself is just absolutely amazing. I will definetely come back! >:)
