La experiencia

We are looking for volunteers with equine experience who want to develop their skills in horse behaviour, communication / understanding & pony enrichment projects . We aim to work from a positive reinforcement and ethical horsemanship perspective. You will also be involved in helping with the daily care of 37 ponies ( watering, feeding and mucking out) and also 17 rescue cats , 2 dogs , a crazy goat and some chickens.

Bicicletas a tu disposición: Puedes usar nuestras bicicletas cuando quieras.

Programa detallado

Help a registered non profit project conserve and protect a critically endangered breed of pony the Skyrian Horse. We will send you on our very detailed volunteer farm description which gives a lot of information about both the volunteer tasks and Island and a volunteer application form.

Actividades & Turnos

In Spring and Autumn we operate a split shift 3.5 hours in the morning .Free time ...1 hour in the late afternoon.
In the summer you either work a morning shift or afternoon shift an the other half of the day is free time..
Helping sweeping yards and keeping farm tidy and clean, cleaning and filling up waters buckets and troughs, pooh pick pony fields, and daily care and support of well being of ponies and other animals here.

Time to explore the island everyday and watch the stars at night, to walk or hitch around and explore the stark at times yet beautiful landscape of Skyros island. beaches, countryside, pine forests, mountains, etc

Reglas

We are looking for volunteers who can stay for 6 weeks or more and prioritise volunteers who want long stays of 2 months or more and have farm or pony/horse/ animal experience
