Overall, I would not recommend volunteering at Hippie Hostel, as I think the overall vibe was very disappointing and I felt uncomfortable there. Although the work was very easy (just 2-3 of cleaning in the morning) I found it very hard to meet other young people in this hostel and did not find it sociable at all. I was put in a the largest shared mixed dorm whichI I usually wouldn't mind, however I found that the only people coming to the hostel were older men. Also it was agreed as part of my volunteering that I would get a meal a day, and when I arrived nothing was spoken about this.

The hostel is small, and I was the only volunteer, so keep in mind that to practice languages you'll have to try to talk to guests. The work hours are also short and the work is simple, so I had plenty of time to explore the area. The hosts were very friendly and accommodated everything I asked.

I really enjoyed my stay in Hippie Hostel, the duties were easy to carry and the staff was very kind with me. I had to work a couple of hours per day and I received accomodation and food. Chania is a lovely place that I enjoyed a lot!

All I had to do was to clean for 2-3 hours a day, everything was just as discussed before my trip. You share a room with other travelers, which is a great opportunity to meet them. There's also a shared kitchen and a roof terrace for you to enjoy. The hostel is just 3 minutes from the sea and 10 minutes from the center of Chania. It was my first experience with Worldpackers and I would highly recommend it :)

I had fun! The location is very good, and the hostel soooo beautiful!!! People were very nice, the host is very nice and helpful. I agree with previous volunteer about the work. It wasn't what i applied for, but it was nothing hard. I did the cleaning of the hostel nothing to detailed, on my own terms when it comes to working hours. I made breaks when i wanted and cleaned when i felt is the best for me. It took me max of 4 hours if not less to finish everything, so i would say that it is pretty flexible. The guests of the hostel are also nice people so i didn't have bad experiences with anyone.
