The experience wasn't for me, but the hostel is a nice place. I thought it was a lot of work for a volunteer and I didn't end up staying the whole month. It's 5 hour solo shifts 5 times a week and you're expected to be in 4 places at the same time: cleaning bathrooms, reception, laundry and making beds, all by yourself. It was exhausting and overwhelming. I've done a lot of volunteering in hostels and never had this much work. The positives are that the hostel is good vibes and the managers and owners are friendly. I would recommend to someone who is really ready to do hard work.

Katia ha sido una gran ayuda en las tres semanas que ha estado en Arena Hostel, habla muy bien español y socializó muy rápidamente con los huéspedes, las tareas que realizó las desempeñó de una manera excelente. ¨She has been always holding down the fort¨.... Muy recomendable para próximos anfitriones.

Conil is a great party town in the summer and in the hostel you can meet a lot of people while working in reception. It's not a normal hostel in the sense that there is no common area for people to meet and hang out, but I didn't have a problem meeting people. You spend a lot of time with the manager Javier since he works a lot, almost singlehandedly, to run the hostel. I definitely improved my Spanish. This job is definitely for people with conversational Spanish level as you need to answer phones a lot.

Awesome experience working at this hostel. Lots of free time. Its a very clean and relaxed environment. The daily breakfast is stocked! You'll enjoy visiting the beaches and the manager Angel is a good guy who can teach you a lot about hosteleria. He likes when you socialize with the guests and make them feel at home as he does. The volunteer bedroom doesn't have windows but the fan makes a big difference. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to spend time on the beach and meet new people.

Miss Katia has turned out to be the most special volunteer of all those who have passed through this hostel. With a restless, fun and energetic personality, Katia has left her mark in this house. Her contagious laugh is still heard in the hallways and in the living room. I personally ... miss her so much. Thanks Katia.
