The hostel is a lively space inside Las Galeras; Luca and Flor are understandable and flexible. The tasks are simple and the schedules are set to make it easy to organize. Flor, who is the one organizing everything (at least when I went), earns a 10/10. Thanks for making it easy!

My experience with this volunteering was pleasant.
I really liked the hostel's location, and thanks to that I was able to discover the beaches and other attractions of the local nature. Luca is a kind person and always willing to help.
Something to keep in mind is the living arrangement with Luca's mother, as at times she can be hostile toward volunteers in the use of the kitchen, although it can be managed.

The experience at the hostel was good, Lucca is a good person and tries to keep his hostel organized, there are things to improve, but overall I could get to know this beautiful place in the Dominican Republic. I wish you success and all the best for your hostel.

My volunteer experience was not good. Luca's mother kept bumping into me when I passed by and was always disrespectful to me. I felt very uncomfortable and tried to spend as much time as possible outside the hostel. The atmosphere was very tense; many avoided the kitchen when she was present. Luca does not do enough to handle these situations or improve the atmosphere. I don't recommend it.

My experience at the hostel was not at all good. From the day I arrived there was a very tense atmosphere, with arguments, mistreatment, problems mainly from the other volunteers with Luca's mother, and not only volunteers but also guests. I was planning to stay three weeks in Las Galeras and I only managed to stay one week there. Not only was my experience bad, there were four more volunteers and everyone was in the same situation of wanting to leave as soon as possible.

Juli, I'm sorry you arrived at an inconvenient moment. Your experience has helped us implement changes in the organization. I wish you success in your future experiences!

My first volunteering experience, and I want to keep doing it. The experience was incredible.
The hostel has an excellent location. The best beaches I've seen (two are a 5-minute walk away).
Luca is a flexible person and willing to help; it's funny how many conversations he can generate about just one topic.
Volunteer groups are large; this creates an excellent atmosphere, along with the locals who attend.
One thing to note is that Marina is an older person with multiple tensions with the volunteers, which can ruin your stay if you can't cope with the situation.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hostel and, once again, the experience was positive. The location is ideal and the beaches are really beautiful; the locals are very kind. The volunteers make the atmosphere pleasant and the tasks are simple and easy to learn. Luca is a kind person, although he could strengthen his leadership.
The biggest challenge is living with Luca's mother, whose behavior generates constant tension with volunteers and guests, which makes moments as simple as cooking or sharing common spaces difficult.
It's an experience I would recommend.

First volunteering experience and I want more!!
Thanks to the team, Luca's generosity, and Valentina's invaluable support, to my wonderful fellow volunteers, some of whom will be friends for a lifetime, and to the invaluable learning that living with Marina, Luca's mom, has given me.

Las Galeras is a paradise for volunteering. The surroundings are beautiful and the people are very welcoming and friendly. At the hostel you can meet the town's inhabitants and chat with them; they are very nice and always willing to help. Moreover, you feel safe there. Regarding the accommodation, the owner Luca is attentive and understanding. The tasks are very simple and can be carried out without difficulty. The downside is living with Luca's mother, who has a rather special temperament and can create a somewhat tense atmosphere with the volunteers and the guests.

I loved the experience I had at Il triangolo, the tasks at the hostel are very varied and the 4 hours of daily work allow a lot of free time to enjoy the area. Luca is a very kind and communicative host, I loved his kitten Cleopatra, very sweet and affectionate. I hope to return soon :)
