Program Details

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us take this 1902 historic house—converted into a boutique hotel in 2003—into a new era. This is a highly hands-on, active, and creative volunteering experience.

Your help will mainly focus on renovation and upcycling, including:

Creative renovation: Assisting with painting, sanding, and general construction tasks.

Eco-building and recycling: Working with recycled materials to create unique furniture, decor, and structural details.

General maintenance: Lending a hand with daily tasks to get the boutique hotel ready for its grand opening.

You don't need to be a professional builder, but a proactive attitude, a knack for DIY/crafts, and a love for physical and creative work are highly valued!

Activities & Shift

During this renovation phase, volunteers will work 5 hours a day, from Monday to Friday. Tasks during this stage will include upcycling items for reuse in the renovation, general improvements to the historic house, painting, sanding, woodwork, as well as cleaning and organizing.

You will share a room with one other person (maximum 2 people per room), and the room includes a private bathroom. The kitchen, living room, dining area, and terrace are all communal spaces.

The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from Valparaíso's main tourist areas. Right across the street, there is an excellent pasta and pizza restaurant. Additionally, a weekly vegetable market sets up nearby every Tuesday, and there are museums and cultural centers close by.

Ingredients for breakfast and some basic ingredients for lunches will be provided.
