I had an amazing time at the lodge between the incredible nature hikable right outside the door, some amazing volunteers I worked with, and fascinating conversations with travellers and locals who would come up. However, you should know to bring any supplementary items you may need as the diet is extremely basic, it's basically a step above camping, and as of late September there is a bug situation in the loft. Primoz is direct and helpful and you should obviously always expect to do things his way!

My experience volunteering here was incredible. It is an extremely nice and peaceful place, surrounded by beautiful views. The work is not heavy at all, but knowing how to be a good team player is key to making everything run smoothly. Highly recommended!

It's a completely unique experience, a perfect way to take a break from everything. You get to connect more with the other volunteers, and tasks there are simple. Living together can be easy or complicated, as it always depends on the people, but you shouldn't let it ruin your time. Just enjoy it and give it your best!

Awesome unique experience, you get to live on a the lodge and meet locals, cosy bed to sleep in and an outdoor shower toilet. Heaps of walks in the area and it doesn't feel like work.

My stay at the lodge was lovely and a great way to meet locals & tourists. The volunteers run the cafe downstairs & sleep upstairs! The cafe serves 5 drinks, all the time, and food on the weekends. The weekdays are usually quiet so the volunteers divvy up with tasks between themselves. Primoz will usually be on the lodge in the weekends, and once in the week to deliver food. There is lots to do including hiking around, to Trevinbec peak, doing the via feratta, playing with the lodge cat, and relaxing! My advice is to bring any snacks or fruit/veg you want, as the food is very carb dense!

I did not really know what to expect before coming to the lodge, but it was overall a beautiful and enriching experience! Being up in the closest the lodge to Sarajevo was a wonderful way to connect with local hikers & have nice conversations. Primoz is a nice guy, very direct, but it's ok as long as you do your job. We were 2 volunteers at the beginning, which was lovely as not so many guests during the week. It gets mostly crowded during the weekend. We ended up being 6 volunteers at the end, which was a little harder to manage for cleaning, cooking, working (who does what).

I had a wonderful stay at the lodge. It is a lovely, cosy lifestyle. The main tasks were picking flowers for tea, stripping the flowers and leaves from the stalk when they were dry, making tea/coffee/drinks for guests. As well as talking to guests and making them feel welcome. From this I felt like I learnt a lot from locals and also travellers. There are some cool tracks to do on the lodge in your time off. As mentioned by others, this is very basic, minimalist living. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves the outdoors.

Had a truly great time during my short stay. It was a collaborative effort between all the volunteers, sharing the work load and respecting each other. Lived a simple life and ate delicious food that Primoz comes in to prepare for the weekend customers. Volunteers get to split any tips that are given which was super helpful to have cash going into the city afterwards. Would definitely recommend to someone who enjoys nature and community!
