My second time volunteering at this place, there were two incredible experiences where I lived in the same place very different things and it's a place I carry in my heart, the people I met (both guests and staff) and the fascinating experiences I lived.

The hostel was my first volunteering experience and I am extremely grateful for it; all the time I spent there was wonderful, I developed new skills, practiced English and met amazing people. The activities are calm and sometimes I even forgot that it was work because I was having so much fun; the whole team is very good and flexible. Gabriel since I arrived has been amazing and has always helped me in many moments, I am very grateful for that ❤️

There’s Rio and there’s Rio by the hostel. It’s really a unique experience. The benefits and gains are out of this world. I made friends FOR LIFE. Management watches closely on everything (kisses to Gabe and Naomi ❤️). Flexible shifts, breakfast and lunch perfect. Your English and Spanish improve; you get to know Rio in the best way and you’re part of a big system. There are three hostels and the bar, besides the events and activities. A big kiss to Thiê, Emi, Arthurzin, Nana, Kamy, Rô, Brenin, Bibia, Leozin, Andres, Renan, Natan, Alex, Samu, Gu, Duda, Yuri, Ju, the security team, the cleaning staff, and ALL THE CREW!

It was the dream volunteer program at the hostel, I loved everything I lived, the energy of the guests, of the volunteers and of the team, all united and willing to help each other, Gabs always attentive to the volunteers. Having breakfast and lunch every day helps a lot in the routine with the activities that we have to do, you never get bored because you always switch between the innumerable activities of the hostel. I practiced my English and Spanish a lot, I lived the Carioca life intensely and made many incredible friendships. I would come back a thousand times 🥰

Volunteering in hostel marketing, Beach Hostel and Leblon Beach are simply amazing! During volunteering, I contribute to content creation, support in strategies and communication with guests. I created connections with people from all over the world and the team is INCREDIBLE!!!! Thanks to Gabs and Naomi for creating this incredible atmosphere for the volunteers ❤️❤️

My experience as a volunteer at the hostel was very positive. The team is welcoming, organized and always willing to help. The tasks are clear and the schedules are respected, which makes the routine much easier. The hostel offers many opportunities to meet people from all over the world, make connections and form friendships. The environment is light, with a lot of cultural exchange. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a well-organized and enriching volunteer experience.

Unfortunately, it wasn't what I expected. I had agreed to stay for 1 month here, but I couldn't stand it and I ended up leaving early.
The rooms are VERY small, super uncomfortable. I had the top bunk and I couldn't sit up in the bed because the ceiling was too low.
There is no kitchen, although they provide lunch and breakfast.
Unfortunately I had to work a few days with Melissa (manager). She seems to be an unstable person who treats everyone harshly; personally she called me 'retarded' in the middle of my shift. Obviously you don't feel comfortable like that.

Hi Martina. The situation you described does not reflect reality.
During the experience, you stated that you did not like this kind of activity, that you did not want to carry it out, and that you only agreed to it out of necessity.
For future applications, I recommend that you accept only positions for which you truly have interest and the willingness to fulfill them. Volunteering requires commitment, and doing it without willingness or engagement can harm the experience for both you and us.

My stay ended up being shorter than planned for personal reasons, which was a pity, because the hostel has an interesting proposition. The staff were cordial during the period I stayed there.

One of the best volunteer work experiences for sure!
What impressed me the most was how they really give a lot of opportunities to volunteers, creating an environment of growth and learning. The management is exceptional; Melissa and Ketly were always available to help me grow and answer questions, they deliver on everything they offer in volunteering and go far beyond expectations, so sweet!
The flexibility and attention they have with the volunteers is incredible, I loved helping and participating, I felt at home! Special thanks to Gabriel, I would come back a thousand times!

Far beyond anything I could have expected!! The hostel was my home for a year and six months, and it was amazing to be able to build their communication during that time!
