I highly recommend this volunteer experience! Rosa and Jorge were extremely welcoming and set clear expectations for tasks. As we were there in the low season, our work was quite light (often 2-3 hours a day) and involved daily maintenance tasks like sweeping, cleaning the pool and doing housekeeping in guest rooms. We also got to help out with feeding local stray cats, which they do do daily and counted towards our working hours (though this is definitely optional, if you like cats!). Rosa also helped my practice my limited Spanish. A great volunteer experience!

Jorge and Rosa treat every single person that comes through the gates of their hostel with the exact same amount of kindness, helpfulness and respect. It was extremely heart-opening to experience this every day. As far as the work, it was the slow season so I did not clean rooms as I had expected but I did get experience in a variety of maintenance and upkeep tasks. Keep in mind that you will be working in the heat even in the morning, if you are not used to this it could be a lot. I was able to improve my Spanish and develop my work ethic. I always felt appreciated and useful. Recommend!

This was a wonderful exchange. jorge and rosa are amazing, kind hosts. the work was fair, the living space was comfortable, and they spoke with me slowly and simply so i could practice my spanish. it's a calm guest house so if you're tired from traveling it's a great place to rest and reset away from other backpackers. i highly recommend! gracias por todo Jorge and Rosa ❤️

Amazing weeks in Máncora! Jorge and Rosa are lovely and super respectful people — they made us feel like part of the family. As a couple, we really appreciated having a private room, such a thoughtful touch! The work was physically demanding due to the renovations. The organization was very day-to-day, which is all part of the adventure of being on a construction project :) Although the profile mentioned breakfast, it wasn't available because of the renovations, but they gave us full access to the kitchen so we could prepare whatever we wanted. Durante o voluntariado, ajudamos na limpeza dos quartos e das áreas do hostel, além de estender roupas e realizar outras tarefas necessárias para a rotina do lugar. Foi uma experiência tranquila e agradável, e adoramos conhecer e contribuir com esse espaço. Os responsáveis pelo hostel são pessoas muito tranquilas, acolhedoras e fáceis de conviver. Sentimo-nos muito bem no local e ficamos felizes por ter vivido essa experiência. Recomendamos muito este voluntariado! 💛🌴

Foi super tranquila, no primeiro dia nós explicaram as atividades e horários, ficamos em um quarto privado, fazíamos tudo pela manhã e tínhamos o resto do dia livre, para aproveitar a praia e curti a piscina também ♥️

El lugar es tal cual como las fotos, está a dos cuadras de la playa. Las tareas son sencillas y los anfitriones, Rosa y Jorge, te hacen sentir en casa no solo por la hospitalidad, sino que son muy flexibles con horarios y tareas. Además, tienen una perrita amorosa, Duqui y tres gatos. Puedes cocinar, almacenar tus alimentos, nadar en la piscina y reposar en las hamacas. Llegan viajeros de todo el mundo, podrás hablar varios idiomas. Los atardeceres en la playa son increíbles. 100% recomendado, solo no olvides llevar repelente!!

Increíbles 2 semanas en Máncora! Jorge y Rosa son encantadores y súper respetuosos. Como pareja valoramos mucho que nos dieran habitación privada. Como nos tocó estar mientras estaba cerrado por reformas, fue una experiencia de mucho trabajo físico y construcción. La organización era un poco de día a día, ¡pero parte de la aventura de una obra! 😀 Con el tema del desayuno, aunque no estaba servido como dice el perfil (seguro por lo que estaban en obras), Jorge y Rosa nos abrieron la cocina con toda la confianza del mundo. Un gusto haberlos ayudado en esta etapa y les deseamos lo mejor.
