I had a great time at the hostel. The hosts are very kind and Maria makes sure you are shown around and know how to do your job. The hostel is about a 25 minute walk from the main historic center, which I was initially a little worried about, but it really is not a problem at all and the walk flies by. I had so much fun with the other volunteers and guests, and Lecce is such a beautiful, relaxed, kind city. This was my first volunteer experience and I think it was perfect! The people are really what makes the experience great.

This was my first volunteering experience and I could hardly have had a better one. Maria and Alessio da great job welcoming the volunteers, the conditions offered are really nice, and the hostel has great facilities. I was on the housekeeping team for 5 weeks, most of it in August, in which on some days the work gets a bit hectic, but even on those days it wouldn't take me longer than the hours agreed upon to finish. I met great people during my stay, had loads of fun and I wish I could have stayed longer.

I had a lovely month at the hostel. The other staff and volunteers were friendly, and I enjoyed meeting guests travelling from around the world. The work was well-organized and left plenty of free time to explore the city and region. The hostel sits a little outside the city centre, but it's an easy walk and has all the essentials nearby.

I had a really good time at the hostel. Everything was clean and organised, and the tasks were divided fairly, so there was always a clear idea of what needed to be done. The hostel is located right in front of a bus stop and 2 mins from a supermarket, but it's also quite easy to get around by walking. Very friendly and easygoing atmosphere, special mention to Maria the most lovely person ever, she will make sure you experience Lecce like a true local.

I loved this experience! Maria and Alessio were very welcoming. The tasks were very easy to do and you had enough free time. The city is very nice and it's definently worth it to visit the nearby cities. The other volunteers were so nice and I loved sharing a room with them. Many memories and friendships were created here. I would love to come back 💞

I didn't feel respected at all, I felt like I was cleaner, they were owner and that was that. I am intermediate in Italian but know that they won't practice with you if you want to and if you don't speak fluent Italian /Spanish you will not be included or even spoken to at all. level of cleaning is intense in August. Considering amount of work you can at least not charge €4 for laundry and provide an actual bathroom (not the sinks in the bathroom for the hostel dining room). Wouldn't allow my day off on the day I had to attend unexpected uni seminars despite telling saying I'd fail

We understand that volunteering is not for everyone. It is a teamwork experience that demands genuine responsibility and daily collaboration, which can be challenging when managing other personal priorities. We hope that future volunteers join our team with the readiness and commitment that this community experience truly requires.

The hours were very reasonable (while they split the shift so it's a few hours in the morning and then 10 mins of locking up etc in the evening, it ended up being very manageable). Maria was nice and made an effort to welcome us by cooking meals sometimes. The tasks were really simple and in the low session, I was always finished hours ahead of schedule which meant the was lots of time to explore the stunning city. I even managed trips out of Lecce on days that I was volunteering.

Nice place to relax in the off season. Work is fair and Alessio and Maria are easy going and run the place extremely well.

I had a great time in Lecce! As a part of the cleaning team I helped out to clean the hostel after breakfast, which I did until we finished with the tasks for the day. Winter time is low season there so the work was very light and we were always done pretty early. Then we had the rest of the day to do whatever we wanted to, exploring the city and other places close by for example. I had a lot of fun with Alessio, Maria and the other volunteers, hope to see you again!
