I had the most amazing time at the hostel and I would recommend this hostel to anyone. It is right in the center of San Cristóbal so it is very easy to get around, the work was fun and all of the staff members are incredible! It really felt like a second home and I can't wait to go back one day. I am so grateful for the time I got to spend there and the wonderful people I got to connect with! Thank you so much, I'll miss you guys!!

This was my second experience here and I stayed for a little over a month. I did not like how the hours and work is uneven. If you work hard and help a lot, they will give you the full 28 hours every single week and ask you to stay past your scheduled time off. I noticed others were given less hours and tasks. If we are all getting the same "benefits" then it needs to be more even. Also, be mindful of the bed bugs here. I was bit multiple times and so were guests. They treat for them but they never really go away. Don't let this place burn you out or exploit you. Good luck everyone! 🙂

I volunteered here for 3 weeks. At first everything was fine and the atmosphere is very social, especially with the guests. However, the hostel expects you to socialise with guests only inside the hostel and only during their activities (like the bar or temazcal).
After I guided a guest to the mountain, I was told by the owner that I was not allowed to interact with guests outside the hostel. I decided to pay my last week as a guest to avoid problems, but I was still banned because “my interests were not the same as the hostel's”.

I had so much fun at the hostel! It's really big and there are lots of social activities you can organize or join as a volunteer. The staff is very friendly and we soon became friends. I felt respected and very welcomed!

The hostel was my first volunteer experience, and it was absolutely incredible! San Cris is one of my favorite places I've been and I miss the hostel already. The staff is amazing, the food was great, the work was as described and rarely felt like work, the volunteer group felt like a little family, and I made a lot of really great friends for life. I know I'll be coming back to the hostel in the future, gracias por todo!

My experience at the hostel was wonderful, I already miss the place and the team! The hours are as described, the hostel and volunteer room are so comfortable and well-maintained, the food is amazing, and the staff are the best!! I made great friends during my time there and San Cristobal has to be my favourite part of Mexico so far, which is saying a lot because I loved Mexico! Couldn't recommend more, determined to come back one day! <3

It's a great hostel to volunteer in San Cristobal! The staffs are awesome, guests are nice and the food is great. It's a big and very social hostel and there's lots of things going on and it's fun. I enjoyed the activities, the city is beautiful and the surrounding nature is wonderful.

Wow, what a hostel! the hostel really is such a gem and one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at, and it was so lovely to volunteer here. I think the work hours are very fair and the staff always respected when it was the end of my shift. The shifts are organised very well and shared fairly between all the volunteers. The staff were so helpful and welcoming and fun! Work hardly even felt like work because everybody was so kind and lovely to spend time with. The hostel offers a lot (free breakfast and dinner plus daily activities) which made it super social! All my love and thanks!!
