Sirutar school's teachers are very competent and your help is more in giving confidence and joy to mostly disadvantaged children. They get stimulated and thank you with their warm affection. On free time you will make beautiful excursions. Himalayan mountains are never very far away and astonishing old towns of Katmandou valley easy to reach in about 20mn by car. The family is warm, including you as one of its members and you will feel safe. If you have clear and deep motivation it's for you! But know that you will be challenged by the economic level and the need of school in particular.

Sirutar school's teachers and students, the community and the family i stayed with were all very welcoming and friendly. I very soon felt like home, safe, welcome and respected. I recommend trying this experience as it's the best opportunity for cultural exchange and at the same time doing something meaningful and fulfilling.

The experience with the ngo chhari was certainly very impactful. there is total immersion in the local culture. the host family and the school staff are very friendly and helpful. Recommended for those who really want to experience and experience Nepali culture
