Activities & Shift

You can expect to work at least 4-5 hours a day, five days a week. The activities will vary depending on the weather, time of year, and your skill set. Much of our work will include:

- Making fermented tea products (Bamboo tea, puerh tea cakes, white peony tea, bundled white tea, red tea, and more...)

- Making traditional bamboo and straw paper

- Cooking

- Interacting with guests and visitors who are visiting the Tea House for tea tastings.

- Assisting in field education workshops for local youth, working with local tea startups, and helping promote small businesses through social media.

Rules

Note: WE DO NOT PICK TEA ON RAINY DAYS.
There is a dizzying mix of weather in Ha Giang Province, that sometimes results in sustained periods of rainfall. While we will do our best to provide you with an exceptional tea experience, please know that we cannot ultimately control the elements. The short explanation for not picking in the rain is that precipitation in this region creates slippery surfaces, limited visibility, and increased risk of accidents and illness. Additionally, it is very challenging to process wet leaves and any attempts to do so often results in inferior quality tea. Instead we are citizens of a yin and yang philosophy and on rainy days we will look for other activities to interest you and showcase this remarkable region.
