Rodrigo welcomes us with great joy. Since the beginning of our stay he talked about the rules, the projects to do, the priorities and the culture of Ilha do hostel. We always had fruit available from the trees in the yard: sapodilla, Cayenne lime, mango, tamarind, dried and green coconut, pitanga, acerola, tucumã, taperebá, etc. In the projects developed he was always present to work as a team. I immersed myself in Marajoara culture and had the opportunity to stay almost a month because this project exists. Rodrigo is very welcoming and open with volunteers, in addition to being super flexible with the tasks, which are everyday caregiving tasks. Spending another month here at the hostel was amazing! I have no words to describe everything I experienced on the island. I highly recommend volunteering! I will miss the hostel's garden, the carimbós, the cuisine, and above all the people. I can only thank Rodrigo and Meire for having welcomed me so warmly during these two months. I am leaving with the certainty that one day I will return!

My experience at the hostel has been so amazing that I extended my stay here. The island is a magical place! You have to live it to understand. The work at the hostel is super calm and Rodrigo is super flexible with regard to the schedules. Besides being a great host, he is also a tour guide and takes us on the tours whenever he can, giving discounts. I haven't even left yet and I'm already missing it! <3
