I had the best time staying with the family in Friesland. They were all so kind and welcoming, and make you feel like you're a part of their household. Wiesje cooked wonderful meals and made sure I got to try some traditional Dutch and Friesian foods. Cannot recommend this experience enough, I will miss them all! ❤️

I had such a wonderful experience volunteering here! From the beginning, they made me feel at home, even bring far away from my country! The tasks were always very clear and easy, and they were always kind and attentive, making sure I felt comfortable and happy. I really appreciated how welcome and relaxed they made me feel. We shared so many nice moments together, like going to the villages near by, going to the supermarkets and shops, cooking together and even learning new hobbies, which made everything more special. They are amazing hosts and I recommend this experiencie for everyone!!❤️

Siewart & Tanya, and the entire family were very welcoming to us in their home. They were completely accommodating and flexible. The work is manageable, and there is plenty of time to explore the area around. I really enjoyed working in the garden and cycling to Dokkum to explore. The family is very open and social, and we got to learn a lot about the Friesian life and culture. Great experience!

I had the most incredible experience while volunteering at Siewart and Tanya's family home, I learned so much about agriculture, sustainability, and about the area of Fryslân in general, the family was so welcoming and open for conversation that I truly felt like I was part of the family, the room I got was incredibly large and easily big enough big enough for 2 people to stay at with a huge bed and heating.
To summerize, this was my first worldpackers experience and I can't recommend any other place to start your worldpacking journey at!

The experience was great. We had our own room in the big house. Be prepared to be immersed into a big family. They are keen to share their passions with you and teach about the local frisian culture. I felt welcomed from the time I stepped through the doors. There's a big garden and animals. It's a great spot if you like to walk or cycle and be surrounded by nature. Or if you like to listen to their life stories or socialise during family dinners. The tasks were flexible and manageable. From pruning trees, to sanding walls, cleaning the chicken pen or cooking. Thanks for this experience!!

The family was very welcoming & shared lots of life stories with us. We also shared every meal togethter. If you like to cook the family will love you! xD
Sadly, we didn't get to spend as much time with Tanya and Siewart.
Our private room with a double bed was a bit cold at times, but okay.
The work was versatile and pushed us out of our comfort zone. It was always manageable and the expectations were realistic.
It's an amazing WP experience to immerse yourself in Frisian culture. There are nice walking/biking tracks all around the house so I would recommend this WP to nature loving people!

I had a really lovely time at Siewart and Tanya's home where I worked mainly chopping apples and collecting seeds which was very chill especially with all the various people who would come by and chat!! I really enjoyed getting to know the whole family and felt very at ease and comfortable and learnt so many new things and laughed so much and really genuinely will return when I can! I had a campervan to myself which was super comfy oh and the surrounding countryside town is so cute and historic! Don't hesitate to go I miss it already. ☺️🌞

I had a wonderful time here! Siewart, Tanya, and their whole family were so welcoming, caring, and kind. I learned so much about gardening, Frysân culture, and the family. I got to go on many walks, bike rides, and visited nearby towns to explore. I would highly recommend this Worldpackers experience.
