The experience

Friendly hostel helper wanted in Marburg! Easy job: evenings 6–9 pm, chatting a bit with guests, creating a nice atmosphere, simple housekeeping/reception tasks, and occasionally checking that quiet hours are respected. Free dorm bed + breakfast included. Perfect for someone on a low budget looking for accommodation in Marburg. German skills (intermediate+) required. Calm, reliable and open-minded person wanted.


What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Night Shift: Help with night shift tasks and create a relaxing environment for guests.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.


What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.


Requirements

Intermediate German and Intermediate English

Between 20 and 30 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

Du hilfst im Hostel bei der Zubereitung und servieren des Frühstücks. Danach machen wir die Bäder und Zimmer sauber. Am Nachmittag oder abend kümmerst du dich um die Rezeption und Gästeunterhaltung.


Activities & Shift

The tasks are very easy and relaxed:

• being present at the hostel in the evenings between around 6 pm and 9 pm
• talking a little with guests and creating a welcoming atmosphere
• making sure everybody behaves respectfully
• helping with simple housekeeping/reception tasks
• during weekends, doing one short night check to make sure quiet hours are respected


Rules

• German language skills at intermediate level or above
• friendly, reliable and open-minded towards people from all over the world
• this is not a party job — we are looking for someone calm and responsible
