I strongly suggest this place for those who love wondering in nature. Plenty opportunities nearby. It was great to practice a bit of Italian here too, but it's nice that we could talk in English, because it was easier to discuss my tasks (and other things). Although, our deal didn't include meals, I got invited to eat with them several times :) So I ate lots of delicious Italian food!

Gio is a very kind host, always making sure that we were okay and making time for us (we even had a pizza party!) even tho she was super busy. The work is easy and can be done in a couple hours, sometimes more, depending on the tasks for the day. The kitchen has everything needed to cook, bathrooms are clean and working well, we had privacy and freedom since there's no fixed time to get things done. Schio is a relatively small town. From the house is about 30 min walk to downtown. There's a supermarket 5min away, a climbing gym 10min, lots of mountains, hikes, rivers, and cute towns around.

It was a great experience staying at the guest house Gigliola. Even though she was very busy with work, whenever she had free time, she made sure to dedicate it to the volunteers, which was really nice. Francesca and Luca were also always very kind and welcoming. Schio is a small, beautiful town, and on your days off, you can visit Venice, Verona, Lake Garda, and other cities. I recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful place.

This was my first Worldpackers experience, and I can't recommend it enough. Gio was so kind, respectful, and included us volunteers in her daily life, which made for a more immersive experience. Her cooking is delicious <3 The work itself was simple, and could be completed in under 2 hours each day, which left plenty of time for exploring and relaxing. The quiet town of Schio is surrounded by beautiful mountains, and fairly close to other cities like Verona and Venice for day trips. If you want a peaceful stay in northern Italy, look no further!

I had a great experience! The tasks were simple and left plenty of time in the day for other activities. I was able to go to the town festival and learn Bachata and Salsa from a local group, which was a super awesome, one-of-a-kind experience that I wouldn't have known about without Gigliola. The only thing I would say is to bring bug spray!! Coming in the summer time I got a lot of mosquito bites, but they usually love to bite me anyways. Other than that I highly recommend it for a rural experience, and you are also close enough to Venice by train (2 hrs) for a quick day trip! 🤗

Staying at Gigliora's place was a wonderful experience! She spoke English well and gave clear instructions on what needed to be done. The work was easy; I could finish within two hours a day, leaving the rest of my time free to do whatever I wanted. On days off, I could even travel to nearby cities! The dinners she occasionally prepared were delicious, and the moments spent chatting with her and meeting local residents were truly unforgettable. I highly recommend this activity to anyone looking for a comfortable way to explore Schio and Northern Italy :)

I really enjoyed my time in Schio! The tasks were simple and quick and we had a lot of free time. I think it would be better to have defined hours and schedule, instead of arranging the work each day, but the tasks were communicated well and we had a lot of flexibility to schedule free time. The space is cozy and you can visit great cities nearby! Gio was a great host, we had nice chats and dinners (she's an amazing cook!), and when we had a complicated situation with one of the guests when we arrived, she resolved it quickly and made sure we were comfortable. Overall, great experience ❤

Great experience for a quiet stay near the mountains. I reccomend visiting Venezia, Verona and Padova during free time, or hiking in the beautiful surroundings. Ask the owner for recommendations on places to go :) Nightlife is not great, there are a few bars and disco but is more a rural experience.

I had a great time in Schio! Communicating with Gigliola was easy and everything was explained clearly. The work was fair, i had a lot of free time which i used to go hiking in the mountains or explore Schio or the other citys near by. It also really was a funny experience especially due to the other italian guests living there during my stay. Great way to practice a bit my Italian and learn about italian culture! We were like a crazy little family in the end :)
