I had the pleasure of staying with Fernando for nearly a year, and I can confidently say that his place is as magical and incredible as people claim. The variety of tasks ensures that no day is ever dull; my primary responsibility involved irrigating the fields using multiple water pumps, alongside other long-term volunteers. We truly functioned as a cohesive team, and I am immensely grateful to all the volunteers who contributed to maintaining the space for future visitors. Adrianne stayed with us almost a year in several periods. He is a very intelligent hard worker having lead the irrigation project that comprises multiple sources (river, wells, water rain and gray water from the sewage system). He is also very sociable and an excellent cook - he introduced Asian dishes from his country Philippines). Thank you Adrienne!!!

Volunteering at the community was an incredible and enriching experience! Mr. Fernando is a true professor: we talked a lot about Portuguese and world history, and he also taught me in practice how to use a chainsaw (my first time!) and how to prepare firewood for the winter. The site's structure is excellent, with very welcoming spaces such as a library, a meditation room, a living room and comfortable rooms for volunteers. The communal meals were always great. I highly recommend the experience for those seeking to learn, connect with nature and truly collaborate.

From the volunteer experiences I had, it was here in the community where I found a greater spirit of community and partnership. Fernando and Masha, the owner and manager of the project, besides being approachable people, work with us shoulder to shoulder every day. They design, delegate and roll up their sleeves, making us feel part of a whole. As for the team, resident and guest, it was enriching to live with them. For those who like nature, you will feel embraced by it all the time. For those who love animals, you will have good company from cats, dogs, horses, sheep, ducks and chickens. An extraordinary experience.

My month there was very enriching, both for what I learned about sustainable agriculture and on a personal level: I found calm, simplicity and moments of disconnection that were very valuable.
