At the beginning there was a bit of confusion regarding tasks and schedules, but it's something administration has already resolved for upcoming volunteer opportunities. I loved the hotel, and in part it was due to the team’s family they have.
Both Fernández, Yorlei, Nena, the guys who fixed the pier, Yei, Paola and my volunteer colleagues Yen and Paola, gave magic to the place.
Very grateful to have shared with each of them and this experience is highly recommended. 🩵🩵

My experience was positive and enriching. It is an ideal place to slow down and reconnect with nature and with oneself. The natural environment is incredible. The human aspect was the most valuable. Héctor always kept a clear and respectful dialogue. With Luis I shared a large part of day-to-day life, creating a very beautiful bond of friendship. The girl brought joy with her tenderness and humor. Yorli, with her smiles, lit up the space. The maintenance guys, Luis and Jey, also made living together something warm and pleasant. A wonderful space.

La Isla y el hotel was the best place to start my volunteer adventure. It is a paradise that invites you to disconnect and live unique experiences. I supported in the dining room and with the guests, which allowed me to meet incredible people, the island and its culture. At the beginning the instructions weren't very clear, but with the days I understood my tasks and the staff always helped me; they won my heart, and now they are good friends for me. The staff's meals could have a little more variety. I recommend bringing books and a good repellent. Definitely an experience that is totally worth it.

Spending this month, in sun and salt, on an island in the middle of the Colombian Caribbean, based on fish with bananas, and contributing my work for a few hours each day, meeting special people and exchanging experiences, was one of the best experiences of my life!
