Welcome to Floripa Surf Hostel, a cozy seaside sanctuary owned and operated by a local family right here on-site. We’re looking for kind, proactive souls to help us maintain our space and keep the good vibes flowing. Because we’re a small, intimate hostel, you won’t just be a staff member—you’ll be part of the family, connecting deeply with global travelers and experiencing the authentic heart of Floripa. This is a SURF HOSTEL not a party hostel.
30 hours of help per week
Administration: Help with booking systems and payments.
Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.
Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.
2 days off per week
Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Discounts on Parties: Get discounts at nearby parties and clubs.
Discounts on Drinks: Get discounts for drinks and beverages from our bar.
Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.
Free Parties: Get free entrance for the best parties in town.
Surfboards: You can use our surfboards as much as you want.
Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely
Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely
Intermediate English and Beginner Portuguese
Between 18 and 50 years old
Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

We Need a Helping Hand at the Hostel!
Responsibilities include:
- Being available during your shifts to assist guests
- Handling check-ins and check-outs
- Helping maintain the cleanliness of shared and outdoor areas (which you’ll also be using)
- Supporting with any occasional tasks that may come up and require attention
Around 90% of our guests communicate in English, so fluency in the language is essential.
We’re counting on people who are proactive, responsible, and ready to keep the good vibes going while helping us care for the space and our guests.
Your Role During the Shift
During your shift, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the hostel and making sure everything runs smoothly. Your tasks include:
- Handling check-ins and check-outs
- Providing information and support to guests
- Preparing beds and keeping common areas tidy
- Engaging with guests and creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Ensuring the hostel stays organized and well cared for
In short: take care of the space and the people in it — help us keep the good energy flowing.
Important information: all our shifts are during the day and early evening. This means you will not be scheduled for the overnight shift.

To keep the hostel peaceful and enjoyable for everyone, please follow these simple guidelines:
- Stay organized — take care of your personal belongings and keep your space tidy.
- No visitors allowed — for everyone’s safety and comfort, outside guests are not permitted at any time.
- Quiet hours — please avoid loud noises between 10 PM and 10 AM to respect those resting.
- Clean up after yourself — whether in the kitchen, bathroom, or common areas, leave things as you found them.
- Be respectful — treat others with kindness and respect the shared space.
- Be social — we love good vibes and friendly energy, so feel free to connect and share!
