The experience

We are a local family living in Arusha, north of Tanzania, that works to enhance the quality of life of our community. We focus on improving education of our kids, as one of the biggest concerns of the country is the low rate of children finishing secondary school.

You can support our local school by helping to teach under staffed classes and encouraging the children to learn and have fun at the same time!


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Tours: Get discounts for tours and excursions around town.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Program Details

You will stay with a local family in a little village 15 min motorbike ride away from Arusha. You can support our local school by helping to teach classes and encouraging children to enjoy learning, whilst having fun at the same time.

In the afternoons and weekends you will be free to do explore and do whatever you like. If you want to explore alone then you are free to do so but we can also help to arrange trips and activities for you. There are many things you can do such as safari, climbing Kilimajaro / Mount Meru, go to the hot springs and waterfalls, visit a Masai village or spend time with the kids from boarding school or from the orphanage. It is completely up to you, whatever will make your trip amazing!
