The hosts and everyone involved in the trip quickly felt like family. It's truely special to be surrounded by like minded and equally passionate people. The trip was incredible. If you want a jam packed adventure away from tourists this is the trip. And if you love the ocean this is the perfect way to help look after it

The project experience was incredible. We bonded so well as a group as the group chat set up and progressed over time, when we met, it was like we had known each other forever, very quickly. the project team were supportive, and informative. It was fantastic to have Erin on site as our travel buddy and I believe that this should be standard. She was knowledgeable and liased with the project team to set up new events to go to (like the incredible mangrove restoration project that encompassed the bee keeping and salt creation). The DBS dive team were phenomenal as well

Working with Bale Nara Lombok was one of the most fulfilling & rewarding experiences I’ve had while traveling yet! The team is so engaging (even with little to no English speaking) and very helpful in creating a very immersive, educational, and fun experience. Most of us joined for the experience, but found ourselves more excited to be with the team! There is a lot of time you spend with the group and the team, so if you come as a solo traveler, you will leave with a family.

This was my first Worldpackers experience, and it completely changed my life. From the meaningful work restoring coral reefs to the incredible people I met, every part of this trip was unforgettable. I absolutely fell in love with the project and think it might be my favorite place I've ever been—the culture is so rich, the food was amazing every day, and the hospitality was unlike anything I've experienced before. The team was so attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely cared about everyone there, which made me feel so safe, supported, and at home the entire time.

My experience at Bagek Kembar was unforgettable! I miss it already.. The kids are enthusiastic, sweet, and eager to learn about English, while teaching me Indonesian and Sasak. Mr Agus' family is always welcoming and positive. Idris, my acolyte, is an amazing support. He guided me through both the Nature and Islamic schools, and we explored the project from end to end 🫶🏼 Flexibility is key. Embrace the Indonesian style! I learned so much about local food, traditions (especially during Ramadan), and village life, while also becoming more aware of the project's realities. I hope to come back very soon 💖

The Overall Experience was Great and I felt welcome and safe at all times. The only thing that is improvable is the description on worldpackers because I didnt really know about anything I had to do before I arrived. If you want to get to know the culture in the project I can warmly recommend though.

This was my first time volunteering, and it was amazing! Budi, JP and Uchi are so nice and helpful. The working tasks are so manageable and they are very flexible with when I could do them. I got to explore the island, learn about their program for coral replanting , connect with the locals and got a truly authentic experience. I will definitely come back

My experience in Tawun was so memorable. I first planning to stay for a week but enjoyed my time and extended for a second. I wanted an experience that would give me a true experience of what local life is like in a small village and this experience defiantly gave me that. I become very close with all the local people and all the people involved with the DBS operation.

We dived a ton and got to see much of the sea in the surrounding area. I learned how to dive here and felt very comfortable and guided through the whole experience. If you are new to diving, or experienced you will love Tawun

I had an amazing stay at the project in the project! I learned so much about the mangroves, Indonesian bees and the local way of life. The kids I taught English to were enthusiastic and kind, and everyone in the community made me feel so welcome from the very first day. It's a wonderful place to connect with nature, experience authentic Indonesian culture and be part of a warm, caring environment.
