I was treated very well by Fanny, and the tasks were straightforward. However I couldn't stay longer, I didn't identify with the project, I didn't feel well and I decided to leave before the arranged time. But I hope the guide I made will be useful for future volunteers and that the work will be clearer and better organized, especially for beginners!

The experience for me was quite complex. The volunteers' house is separate and in a fairly precarious state. The work is very demanding, and you have to go into it knowing that. I felt that the volunteer project did not make up for such arduous work. The French classes weren't really offered, which I missed a lot. Nevertheless, Fanny was very understanding and kind to me when I said I would need to leave early, and the guesthouse staff were great. The place is also beautiful.

Pontal de Maceió is a beautiful and amazing place to visit. I had the opportunity to immerse myself deeply in the local culture.

Second positive experience, but with room for improvement. The work in the garden was heavy for a volunteer program that offers only lodging, and it felt more like manual labor; at least one meal or a meal allowance would be appropriate, as I’ve seen in other programs. Some details were missing at the volunteers’ house, such as a fan, bowls, and supplies to wash bed linens, as well as replacing holidays like Christmas with our weekly day off. Despite that, the human exchange is very rich: I made good friendships, Fanny is lively, the team is welcoming, and Fortim is a paradise. I plan to return, seeking a lighter service.

Hosp: The volunteers' house is perfect, right in the center, well-structured. Beautiful beaches nearby
Atv: The garden is under construction, so the work was quite heavy (carrying gravel/sand), it's a very hot place and we dealt with a lot of dust. Unfortunately we didn't have language classes.
Anfitrião: We didn't have much time to mingle due to the high season, she was with many guests, so it was practically cordial greetings and some orientations, quick responses on the platform and WhatsApp, she called before we accepted the dates, to explain how the activities were and she was flexible with the dates.

Absolutely incredible experience! I highly recommend volunteering at the guesthouse. Fanny and the whole team welcomed me very warmly. I signed up to help in the garden, but there are many other activities to do, so you can participate in different things beyond that.
The space where volunteers stay is very comfortable, safe, and well located. I definitely want to come back! Gratitude 🫶🏼

Pontal de Maceió is an incredible place and little explored by Brazilian travelers on the Ceará coast. The entire inn staff will welcome you very well and they are always available to answer questions about the region. Fanny and Alice are lovely, always asking us how we’re doing and inviting us to tours. During my stay I stayed in a very comfortable house separated from the inn, only for volunteers, which is in the best location in the city, near restaurants, a supermarket and the beach, but sometimes it may be necessary to stay at the inn itself. I highly recommend!

I signed up for the position related to media and website, but since there was already another volunteer responsible for social media and the inn needed help in other projects, also related to digital, I took on this other part. In practice, I assisted with tasks of organizing files digitally, creating email marketing, researching tools, and sending emails. It was quite interesting, as it has to do with a field I already had some knowledge of, but which is not 100% aligned with what I do, so it served to deepen skills that will be useful in other experiences.

It was really nice to be with Fanny and Alice during these almost two months! I started learning French, I took photos and videos of the accommodations that kept getting better, I lived very good moments with them and I thoroughly enjoyed the calm of Pontal de Maceió. I highly recommend, I miss you all 🩵
