Program Details
In the green season (July to September) we look specifically for this help:
💪 Physical tasks: clearing pasture overgrown with tall grass to prepare new areas for tree planting for those that crave a good work-out
🪵 Carpentry: sanding, making furniture, building small structures — only for those skilled or with sufficient experience in woodworking to work independently.
As we are busy with our online business and other projects this is not so much a learning stay but more a helping stay. We prefer volunteers that can work independently for the (DIY) projects matching their skills.
You’re free to plan your own breaks and lunch in your private outdoor kitchen. Afternoons are usually reserved for relaxing, reading, exploring the property or simply enjoying the hammocks.
On workdays we can share dinner at the house , a lovely time to unwind, chat, and exchange stories about the day.
What we offer
- A tranquil, natural environment to recharge mind and body
- Pick-up and drop off in Jicaral or at the ferry Playa Naranjo (5000 colones)
- Private space and your own kitchen
- Laundry once a week free of charge (additional laundry: 2000 colones)
- Fiber-optic internet for those who like to write, read, or reflect online
- Walking trail to a river canyon
- No loud music, no rush, just jungle peace and bird song
This is ideal for:
- Volunteers that can work independently seeking a slower lifestyle
- Writers, readers, or quiet souls who like to be in nature but also love physical work outdoors or know how to work with wood
Activities & Shift
Because of the warm tropical climate, we usually start early and take things at a relaxed pace. After you’ve had breakfast in your cabin, we meet for a morning coffee and briefing around 7 a.m. (or earlier if you prefer cooler hours).
Once the day begins, you’ll manage your tasks independently while we focus on our office work. You’re free to plan your own breaks and lunch, which you prepare in your cabin. Afternoons are usually reserved for relaxing, reading, exploring the property, enjoying the hammocks or joining us to do groceries or go to the beach.
You can choose your two days off per week. On workdays we share dinner together at the house which is a lovely time to unwind, chat, and exchange stories about the day.
It’s a gentle rhythm that balances meaningful contribution with plenty of personal time and is ideal for volunteers who appreciate independence, peace, and a slower way of living in nature. 🌞

A few things to know:
💚 The place is not in a busy touristy region, so not for everyone. It is however perfect for those who crave peace, nature, and authenticity over crowds.
💚 We live a plant-based lifestyle at the property
