Echo Beach is one of best backpackers hostels on the island. Our beach bar and restaurant is famous on the island where locals like to hang out. At night we like to party! Great house music - the best on the island - spin the wheel for free drinks, join in our drinking games or just chill with your new friends until the major parties start around midnight. We even have a in-house tattoo artist and Yoga on the beach every morning

We work together like a family in Echo Beach. We work, party and experience together and we help each other were and whenever we can! Our beach bar and restaurant is famous on the island where locals like to hang out. So it's super easy to make new friends

We arrived to find out Echo didn’t communicate between managers and decided they didn’t need to hire any more volunteers. We had planned to work here a month and were told at first we could stay for a couple days to find our feet but they changed their mind and said we would have to leave and the hostel wouldn’t help us. We had no where to go because of the late notice and the hostel did nothing to help us. We were left homeless with no support or consideration to our situation. We had to leave the island and our travel plans and further booked flights were affected because of this.

My experience at Echo was amazing. Being able to teach yoga on the beach every morning & get to watch insane sunsets right from the same place felt almost unreal. Mark is a great guy & inspiring leader, always looking to improve, get better & host a great place. Guests loved it so much they would stay 3+ weeks at a time, I’ve got to connect with great staff & friends from all over the world making relationships that will last a lifetime. During my 2nd week Mark even helped me set diving lessons & stay at their partner hostel on Koh Tao. This place has real energy, highly recommend!

I loved my time at Echo Beach Hostel! The staff was really welcoming, working doesn’t really feel like working with them. :) I did the yoga classes 3 times a week on the beach which is a perfect place for that! After the yoga I was working the night shift which was busy but really fun when it was Christmas, Full Moon and NYE. Working 30 hours you still have a lot of time to explore beaches and its really easy to make new friendships in the hostel to party with! Thank you for everything Echo🫶

Echo quickly felt like home while volunteering there for a month. The owner Mark, the people working there and the other volunteers have made me feel so welcome. The shifts were so much fun. I either worked a dayshift (11-5 mainly reception work, bit of bartending), which allowed me to go out afterwards. Or a nightshift (6-12 mainly bartending, bit of reception work), which allowed me to go around the island before the shift (There is way more to do and to see than just the Full moon party ;)
And I absolutely loved meeting so many new people.
I would love to come back in the future!!
