I didn't feel overworked and had plenty of time to talk as well as enjoy Catania and the farm as well as the surrounding areas with weekends off. Was amazing to spend so much time in nature away from the chaos of an the hostel environment and would love to see in the future how far the farm will come on. An exciting project

I really enjoyed my time at the hostel - the volunteer work is easy and the shifts are short so you have plenty of time to explore Catania and neighbouring cities. If you work night shift (7pm-midnight) you essentially get the whole day to explore as well. A quieter hostel, however Catania is big and there is always something on so you will always find something to do. Reza and Salvo are welcoming and friendly, the other volunteers were great too - I would recommend volunteering here to anyone :)

I had a wonderful experience volunteering at this hostel in Catania. From the very beginning, I felt very welcome and comfortable. The manager and the owner are both lovely, kind, and friendly people who were always willing to help me with anything I needed.

My experience at the hostel was truly everything I could have imagined. I met the greatest people from all over the world and truly was able to immerse myself into a completely different way of living. The work was exactly as indicated and hours were respected. The hostel is VERY clean and comfortable. I would recommend to anyone craving to step outside of their comfort zone and experience the crazy city of Catania. Hosts Reza and Salvo are very kind and willing to help with any concerns. I will never forget this time in my life, highly recommend.

As a Canadian traveling through Italy solo, the hostel made my experience welcoming and enjoyable. I enjoyed my time meeting travelers from around the world and having the opportunity to connect with locals. The city and beach areas are vibrant and there is lots to do. I made so many good memories with the other volunteers and I can't wait to come back someday!

This was my first volunteering experience and i loved every second of it! I worked at the farm for 2,5 weeks and i wish i stayed longer! The tasks are not difficult, they are fun and varied. The hosts are very welcoming and it will soon feel like home!
The other volunteers made my stay even better:) i made friends and memories for life!

My time staying at urbanpop was really a special experience. The community within the volunteers was very tight knit, and I made some lifelong friends. The guests were also very social and easy to get along with.
The hosts Reza and Salvo are always available if you need anything. The work and working hours are very clear and precise, and they take the cleaning seriously, which shows as this was one of the cleanest hostels I have seen.
The city of Catania is also very vibrant and full of life, lots of events and stuff to do with the locals. It's hard to be bored here.
Highly recommend.

I had a great time at UrbanPop Hostel. I worked at the reception and stayed for 4 weeks and I can truly recommend volunteering there. Reza and Salvo are so nice and helpful and they made me feel very welcomed. The work was well explained in the beginning and 100% manageable. I met so many amazing people and the common area feels more like a living room. Also the other volunteers made my stay even better. I'm so glad I got to experience this and I will come back in the future. :)

It was my first time volunteering experience and it was truly amazing! I was volunteering at the eco-farm, tasks were easy and fun to complete, loads of animals to interact with. I had no previous experience with gardening etc whatsoever and I feel like I learnt a lot from it! Salvo is kind and very welcoming person, always willing to accommodate your needs and doesn't put too much pressure on anyone which makes this experience more enjoyable and rewarding. I'm very grateful to be able to be a part of his journey and contributing towards it :)
