Program Details

The ConserveLife Foundation (CLF) welcomes motivated and open-minded volunteers to join our community-based conservation and livelihood programs in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Our volunteering program is designed for individuals who are passionate about environmental protection, community empowerment, and sustainable development.

As a Worldpackers volunteer, you will support ongoing CLF activities such as tree nursery establishment and tree planting with schools and local communities, environmental education and awareness, sustainable agriculture initiatives (including vegetable gardens and fish ponds), youth and women livelihood projects, and basic media documentation (photography, video, and storytelling). Tasks may vary depending on the season, community needs, and your skills.

Volunteers should expect hands-on work in both rural and semi-rural settings, flexibility in daily activities, and close collaboration with CLF staff, local leaders, women groups, youth, and schoolchildren. We value teamwork, respect for local culture, and a positive attitude more than prior experience, although relevant skills are appreciated.

In return, CLF provides a meaningful learning experience, cultural exchange, guidance and supervision during your placement, and the opportunity to directly contribute to real, grassroots impact. Volunteers will gain practical experience in community development and conservation work while building strong connections with local communities.

We expect volunteers to be responsible, respectful, proactive, and committed to the agreed volunteering period. In turn, volunteers can expect transparency, mutual respect, a safe working environment, and support throughout their stay.

By joining CLF, Worldpackers become part of a mission to protect the environment.
