The school is an extraordinary place, I loved to see the passion Flame has for the school, how much hard work she puts in the thing she truly loves is amazing. We did some special things like a fire show or a trapeze class. Flame was very excited and openminded to integrate different hobbies, passions or little skills from volunteers. I loved the corn thins with hummus for the snack:) We were allowed to hear music and talk while working, the working hours were very fair. Flame was always carrying about our well being. The place is very peaceful and it was nice to exchange a lot :)

The whole experience was absolutely incredible. Flame was an amazing host and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and welcome in her home. The work was varied and interesting and hours were always respected. We were also able to go out on several outings to local towns to get immersed in Portuguese culture. We even got the school lessons! I would absolutely reccomend this opportunity to anyone looking to do meaningful work with amazing people!

I had such a wonderful time at the school and am so thankful for this experience! Flame is a lovely, kind, and fun person to be around and a great teacher. I enjoyed the work as it is rewarding to see progress throughout your time there. The nature surrounding the place is so beautiful with a park and walking trails nearby. I will miss this experience and little village and Flame and the other volunteers!!!

This was my first time volunteering and I couldn't have asked for a better experience, it felt like a home away from home. the school is a magical place. Flame is warm, welcoming and inspiring, she taught us some the school skills, drove us to see places in the surrounding area, invited us to join a BBQ with her friends, and so much more, I truly felt included and accepted the whole stay. The gardening was sometimes hard work but very rewarding, the sunsets, fire flies made it even more so! I had the best time and I hope to return ✨

This was my first ever volunteering experience and it was absolutely incredible. Flame is a wonderful host; she is kind, open, caring and so much more. The second we got there we were all welcomed with open arms and I immediately felt comfortable. All the tasks were well manageable and varying from garden work to sanding, assembling furniture or painting. It was very nice to do one task in the morning and switch to another task after a snack break. Flame took us on trips in our free time which made for amazing adventures with the other wonderful volunteers. Love you all, obrigada<3!!

Flame is a very nice and caring woman. We had our own room with bunk beds. We took turns cooking. We mostly helped in the garden and she took good care of us. We went to a Halloween party and visited some nearby towns. Flame's way of living and building her dream is very inspiring, and I was happy to help her.

Flame was an incredible host! She always made sure we were happy, warm, and well-fed. She prepares delicious lunches, and dinners are made by volunteers - so bring your best recipes!
Our working hours were fair, and we spent a lot of time in the garden doing weeding, strimming, digging, and other tasks.
We had many great conversations with her, and on our days off she recommended lots of wonderful places to visit.
Our room was very cozy, and the house itself is just amazing!

Flame really lives up to her name; a brave, energetic and motivated person not afraid to chase her dream of building a the school in a small town that hasn't seen such an exciting thing in the past 20 years, perhaps! My stay was influenced by a foot-injury, which did restrict my ability to move around and properly doing the work. Flame was really considerate about this - she genuinely prioritized my health over getting the work done, and that felt heartwarming :) I would've loved to contribute more, as I really liked doing the work - I recommend this to any other volunteer!

Flame is kind, energetic, and welcoming, with a cheerfulness that makes you feel right at home. The living space is beautiful and the town is incredibly charming. She ensures you are never hungry, that the work is not too challenging with plenty of breaks, and overall she creates an infectiously positive environment. It often felt more like being with a good friend! She is a fantastic teacher, very easy and relaxed to work with, and it was a real pleasure to live together. Living at the school was a dream and I'm very keen to return! Thank you, Flame, for this beautiful experience!
