Spending two weeks, became three; teaching English to kids in rural Lak Sao, Laos, was an unforgettable experience. The kindness of the local people, the children’s smiles, and their enthusiasm for learning made every day special. Playing football with the students, having bbq, beers, and singing karaoke with the locals allowed me to embrace the Lao culture. I came to teach, but I ended up learning just as much from them.
