Help build and care for an eco-friendly house in Valencia

The experience

Join me on an eco-friendly house construction project in Valencia! I'm Philippine, a documentary filmmaker and language teacher who started building this beautiful home in 2025. The structure is up, but there's still plenty to do: plastering the facade with lime, interior clay work, wooden floors, kitchen building. I work mostly alone now and would love some help. Accomodation and vegetarian/vegan meals provided.

Program Details

I'm looking for proactive and handy volunteers to help complete my eco-friendly house construction. The main tasks include applying earth plaster to interior walls and helping with carpentry, painting, etc. I also need some help with general maintenance (cleaning, tidying, cooking).

I do my best to give you a chance to practice skills you find interesting. Just a little warning though, although it's often possible for inexperienced volunteers to do learn construction tasks hands on, sometimes the level of skills required makes it difficult and too time consuming to train someone who will only be here for a few days, in those cases I'll ask you to assist me or learn by watching ;)

There is a hot shower inside and an outdoor compost toilet.

I provide vegetarian or vegan food accommodation i in a caravan/large "glamping" tent. Food is available on working days and we will cook together/in turns, if there is anything missing while I'm gone (sometims on weekends) you can go to a nearby supermarket.

If you don't have your own vehicle, I have a bicycle available on site and there are local bus connections.

Although it's a great plus, no construction experience is required, just a lot of energy , some dexterity and a willingness to learn!

Activities & Shift

Work schedule is generally 9:30-14:30, five days per week (usually Sunday-Thursday). Working hours can be flexible, but I often work after 15h, so it's usually in the morning. If you feel inspired to work more, you're welcome to do so, and if you need a rest, that's also fine ;)

I provide working tools, but you may bring clothes that are comfortable (but not too wide, in case you work with electric tools) and which you don't mind getting dirty.

Cooking, cleaning and tidying up are part of every day life in the house.

Rules

No smoking inside, moderate drinking allowed.

If possible, bring your own towel.

In anything you do, please clean up and tidy up after yourself.

Food is provided on work days (3 times a day) but you can buy extra food if needed on weekends and any extra snacks you fancy.

If there's any problem during your stay, please let me know and we can talk about it to find solutions ;)
