Creative carpentry: turning trash into luxury, making furniture

The experience

I have plenty of material here on the site to start a woodworking project with reclaimed wood. However, despite having many ideas, I don’t have time to devote to it and therefore need a hand to help me materialize some projects. At the same time, I’d like to build a network of collaborators to begin exploring some carpentry work, as I receive many requests. Shall we chat?

Proposal: Woodworking Workshop and Material Salvage

The invitation:

Since settling here, woodworking and metalworking have ceased to be hobbies and have become an exercise in observation. I see aesthetic and structural potential in discarded wood, old furniture, glass, and other materials that cross my path — what Victor Papanek would call design for a real world, focused on usefulness and resource consciousness.

The challenge:

The day-to-day life on the site requires constant maintenance, which ends up squeezing the time needed to bring more refined ideas to life. I have projects for lamps, decorative artifacts, and pieces of furniture that are waiting for the moment to come off the drawing board and take shape.

The exchange:

I open the space of my workshop to those who wish to investigate woodworking from a sustainability-focused, authorial design perspective. I’m not just looking for an assistant, but someone interested in:

Investigation of raw materials: Understanding the behavior of wood and metal.

Construction and Restoration: From small lamps to larger utilitarian pieces.

Object Architecture: Applying concepts of form, function, and durability.

If you are interested in learning the craft through hands-on practice, in an environment that values the time of making and the intelligent reuse of materials, let’s talk about this collaboration.
