The Exchange

The participant of this volunteering opportunity will have direct in-class experience alongside a Colombian certified educator at a public/private school setting and have the option to lead class sessions. Depending on your experience and chosen role, as a co-teacher or a teacher assistant, you will have the unique opportunity to develop new skills for communicating and directing classes for Spanish native-speakers within their own community.

Program Details

Depending on your level of experience, your Spanish language skills, and how long you will be staying, you are welcome to help our public and private schools by volunteering in the classroom. All subjects and areas are welcome; it could be academic (English, Math, Science) or could be other areas (arts, music, dance, theater, computers, sports). If you can teach it, we have students that would like to learn from you.
If you can stay for at least two months your expenses may be covered, but if you are short-term you will have cover your own expenses.

Work sites include: Youth Home for Teen Girls, Childcare Center for Sex Workers, Retirement Homes, Language Schools, Public & Private Schools. Private workshops or Community seminars. OPEN & FLEXIBLE, based on your interests.

Short-Term Stay: Your cost is $15/USD (includes lodging)
Long-Term Stay: Your expenses covered as you receive a monthly stipend of $1.5M COP (Long-term requires a 4-month contract starting July or February)
