Program Details

Volunteers work scheduled shifts focused on social presence, guest engagement, and promoting hostel activities and tours. This is an active role; you are expected to be present in common areas, approach guests, explain what’s happening each day, and encourage participation in our experiences.
In exchange, volunteers receive accommodation, a supportive team environment, and the opportunity to be part of a vibrant social hostel in Bacalar.
We value initiative, reliability, and positive energy. Communication and teamwork are essential.

Activities & Shift

Volunteers work scheduled shifts (usually 6 hours per day, 5 days per week).
During your shift, you are expected to:
• Be present in common areas and actively engage with guests
• Notice new arrivals and approach them to make them feel welcome
• Explain the daily schedule, activities, and tours
• Invite and encourage guests to join activities
• Promote hostel experiences in a natural and friendly way
• Introduce guests to each other and help create connection
• Support the team with light setup or organization when needed
This role requires strong social energy, confidence in approaching people, and good English communication skills, as most of our guests are international travelers.
This is an active role — you are not just hanging out, but intentionally helping create community and participation. Spanish is an advantage.
